Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 17, 2013
Embassy Review : Nov 13 was our interview date, we went there around 5am but we never get passed through the security until 6 to 630am.so my advice is not to go there early for the guard will call the next batch to come in like for us k1 for 730am.please prepare your confirmation page on DS 160, your appointment letter (for us, we didnt get that appointment letter instead we showed the appointment schedule) and your passport.this will be check on the first way in.then you will get through a door where security check was.proceed to the ticketing booth, remember this is your lifeline their..lol!the agent will instruct you to go to door 2 and pass what they staple in (copy of the #,ds160 & appointment sched) to window 37 before that another security check inside the building..i never get into the window 37 anyway, a lady from the embassy ask me on what i am processing and get my stapled reqts.i was then told to go outside the waiting area and to wait for my number to be flash.funny i was too confuse where to sit down for their were too many people there.thank God my F was there to ask around and get a sit where we could see flashing number thing!javascript:emoticon('').well for your info, just sit on the waiting area on your left side when you get outside.
This is were the waiting will kill you..LOL!i mean stress you..you have to be on a staring mood the whole time. they will only flash your # 4 times after that your screwed.we started waiting around 7am for our fingerprinting, they flash our # by 830am (dont forget to remember the window you will go, its next to your # when they flash it on the board).done the fingerprinting in just 3mins (they will ask you, your full name & birth date).instruct you again to go outside and wait your # to be flash again.
After 1hr of waiting, to the filipino consul interview. i said Hi with my F behind me.she ask again my full name, birth date and what is the name of my F.she then ask me my original Birth Cert. CENOMAR and NBI clearance and bank receipt when you pay for the visa fee. she then told me to pass the affidavit of support and its supporting docs.btw, she only took the 1040 from last year even though we have like 3 consecutive years of 1040 and W-2, bank statement, letter of employment and pay stubs.LOL! she then ask my F where he works? if his single?if he has any children? (same questions for me afterwards), she also ask if i ever went to another country? if i was petition before? where we first met and what year? after that, we were told again to wait for our number to be called for the american consul interview..
The waiting really frustrate us both, we were waiting for 3hours just to get our interview..it was passed 12 maybe around 1235 in the afternoon when we get out interview..but it was worth it!haha!i never expected our interview to be soooo easy!hehe!in my opinion, i recommend that your F should be there when you have your interview.i notice it also from the other couples having the same interview date as ours. our interview took like about less than 10mins including the taking an oath.while those who are alone could take about 20 - 30mins.our consul was a very nice lady!we said Hello to her. she even let my F be part of the interview! her questions were likely the same from the filipino consul earlier.she then ask my F if he was part in military years before his present work and he answered yes and told her he was in the air force (i think it also helps cause i saw she lighten up when she heard it.lol!)again, ask us when and where we met?how many times did my F visit me?(which surprised her! he visited me 3 times already since last year). after that she just ask us to look at our pictures and was joking with my F about getting the album stuck in the window..lol!
after looking at it, she then said, "well, nothings wrong here.so, your approve and welcome to America'!!!
she then ask us to wait for our name to be called for further instructions on getting our visa..
i was never been soooooo happy in my life evvvvveeerrrr!i was holding up my tears cause its too embarrassing with sooo many people in front of you..haha!
Have faith always and Trust God in everything!
It has been a long journey for us but very thankful for everyone's advice and for visajourney's website..you guys ROCKS!

POE Review: Los Angeles
Event Description
Entry Date : 2013-12-08
Embassy Review : LAX is a very busy airport, you need to pick a date of arrival as early or as late at night.. i got there around 8am, just follow the crowd where they go and there are also signs where you have to go.please prepare your packet, passport and the cbp card.you no longer need to fill up the i-94 card.there were no long lines when i get to the immigration, line up that says visitor. got lucky when they open a new line, done it in just 20mins or less (didnt keep track..lol!)gave them your passport and your packet, they will then ask you some questions like the name of your fiance and where he lives, mostly the long-awaited part is the checking of the packet so dont lose those smile!they will then get your photo and fingerprint..after that they will tell you that you to be married 90 days and blah blah blah!!
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
