Well today was a good day. My wife's son was successfully approved for his permanent status. I can't believe how quick these interviews have been. My wife's last year took 20 minutes. Our son's was just 10 minutes long. For all the things we've said about the USCIS and their delays, when you finally get to talk to a real person it's so great.

My poor wife was so nervous that she was almost sick. The 20 minutes in the bathroom before we left just about ate up the extra travel time I had alloted. We arrived two minutes from the appointed time. We waited 10 minutes to be called in and were out in 10 minutes after.

Of course, since we were in Sacramento, we had to go shopping. This otherwise cheap trip cost an extra $250 on Russian/Ukrainian goods. But I have a very happy wife and son.

Thanks to everyone on VJ, especially Captain Ewok, for all the help. We should have a new person signing up on VJ that I met at the Sacramento office.
