Called USCIS today to see if there were any updates on my EAD because I haven't heard anything from them about the expediting request. They (2nd tier) told me that they sent me a letter last week and should get here this week. He said that my case is on hold because of my RFE for the adjustment of status. I told him that someone else told me that the adjustment of status and EAD were separate and he said no, they can be connected. The officer also let me know that because I'm in risk of losing my job from OPT, this may not count for the financial loss reason to expedite the EAD. He said because the main goal of the OPT is to get job/field experience and not about me supporting myself/family financially, so they might not be able to expedite it. I don't even know what to say or think at this point. Just throwing this information out there to other people who are adjusting from OPT.

I have to receipt numbers, one of them I can check online and the other doesn't work. I use the receipt number of the one that works and call the customer service center. I'm only able to patch through to a live person through the receipt number I can check online. I tell them that I want to talk about the case with the receipt number that I can't check online, they tell me that they can't find it in their system so they are going to send me to tier 2. Then tier 2 calls me back when they have someone available. I think we're only able to talk to someone if our case can be "found". So silly.

For the adjustment of status yes, for the EAD nope.

I don't know exactly why someone here got told that their RFE wasn't connected to the EAD delay, but I think it must be a different case than yours.

Here's the link I found on the USCIS website about it.

https://www.uscis.gov/forms/tip-sheet-employment-authorization-applications-pending-more-75-days

It says that if you get a request for initial evidence on the main application (AOS) then it will affect the EAD clock.

Hey! Fellow ATL filers here and we are experiencing the SAME thing! Applied on March 25th. Hardcopy NOA's for all 4 cases on April 11th. Biometrics on May 12th and since then absolutely NOTHING! Case statuses have not updated since April 18th and no RFE's. Glad to know we are not stuck in limbo alone but as you know that doesn't make it any easier. We had originally said we were gonna call for a Tier 2 on June 13th (our 75 day point) but based on your similar experiences we are gonna call on Monday and see if we can get some insight.

I am in the same shoes too. biometrics done on 05/23/2016. Till now , no update, no RFEand no status update

I received an the mail copy of the RFIE today in the mail. It wasn't what I was hoping for. After my status has sat for 6 weeks in ready for interview the RFIE in the mail received says that they need my tax documentation to complete the processing for the I-864 with the I-485. This is craaazzzy... There are hand written notes on the letter that say 2014 or 2015 1040's. This was included twice (including all W-2's) with the intial applications I-485 and I-864 applications. It appears that they lost it! I'm incredibly frustrated at this point.

I called CS and they said to follow the handwritten instructions. Since the handwritten part of the note stated to send in the 1040's I overnighted those and they will arrive tomorrow. I debated whether or not just to send in the entire documentation for the I-864, including the application but there was also a note saying not to send in any other additional info. So it went as is with 2015 1040 only... I'm sure now they will reject it for not including the W-2's... Ugh!!!

Anyone ever had this happen and can give me an idea of when they might actually review what was sent in? If they reject it I will send in everything new from scratch. I'm feeling like this is a game that you just can't win because they don't play by their own rules.... Positive thoughts... Positive thoughts...

Soak tips on your fingers in acetone based fingernail polish remover it must have acetone in it to work if it doesn't it won't soften the glue or use acetone if you have it on hand which should take it right off (don't soak your skin in it just put it on a cloth and rub on your skin)... I use acetone if I have stuff stuck in my skin and I can't get off... It's always worked for me

I just can't understand how your case could be "ready for interview to be scheduled" and then you get an RFE for the I-864 NOW?! That doesn't make any sense in my head - isn't that one of the first things they review? I'm so confused about how they go about things at the USCIS...

I got an RFE about my tax returns too however there was no note from the USCIS so I followed the instructions in the letter I received. I decided to include everything in regards to the I-864 part of my application, again - just in case.

If I had gotten the kind of letter you got, I would have followed the handwritten note just like you did - I'm sure it will be fine! Keeping my fingers crossed for you :)
