Filing Petition Concerns

The procedure we did on filing the petition form is quite different from the usual i guess.

On January 26,2016 the USCIS received the Form I-129f (only) sent by my fiance and after a week we received the NOA 1. Last month I saw this visajourney site and i got concerned if we did the right thing that we first sent in the petition form only without the required documents. After having seen the list of documents needed, we then completed them right away and on March 1, we sent in all the requirements with the receipt of payment for the petition.

On March 6 my fiance got the return receipt from Dallas Lockbox.

My questions are if what we did was alright? And how long will it take for me to receive the NOA 2?

Didn't you read the instructions before sending in the i-129f? You were supposed to send supporting documents with the I-129f petition such as your fiance's proof of US status e.g. US birth cert, your letters of intent to marry, proof you've met in person etc.

Hopefully they'll match your second packet with your petition. Otherwise you'll get an RFE and you'll need to send it all in again. Always read the instructions.

Ok, to begin with what has been done cant be undone for now, so no point in asking if you read something or not.

Second, it's a good thing that your fiance sent in all the documents, let's now hope that they match everything and keep them together with the petition.

Third, if they dont, you will get an RFE. At that point your fiance would have to send all the documents along with a cover letter.

In all probability, you will possibly get and RFE before you get a NOA2

Maybe.....if they are savvy enough to be able to match the second group with the first. Or, your petition may be rejected and you'd have to refile. Your error not theirs.

And how long will it take for me to receive the NOA 2?

Plan for 10 months be happy with 5.

Did you attached a copy of I-129F and NOA1 on the next packet you sent? If you did, maybe they can match your papers with the NOA1 / WAC as reference.
