We had our AOS interview in Miami this morning. We were the first people in line for our appointment (the first one of the day) at 7:30am. We were called in around 7:40am, and by 8:00am, I was a green card holder! YAY!

The officer was professional and courteous. She asked for and retained copies of the following docs:

my (USC) husband's employment letter and last three paystubs

our joint 2006 tax return and W2s ( we've already filed this year, but if we hadn't the 2005 return would have been fine)

our joint account bank statements

last three cable bills (in both names)

most recent land line bill (in both names)

She also looked through our wedding album, other photos, and my passport.

We asked for the passport stamp, but she said that we would receive the green card in the mail in about a week, so there was no need - particularly since I have AP valid till the end of the year. (It'll be interesting to see how long it really takes!)

FYI -She didn't take my EAD card, I94 or AP docs from me.

I am happy, relieved and very sleepy (we got up at 4:30am!) but I wanted to document our experience before I have a nap! Thanks to everyone for all your support and very best of luck to everyone who's waiting.

When I was looking, I found it hard to get detailed, recent info about Miami interview experiences online. So if any other VJer's find themselves in the same position, please feel free to PM me and I will try and answer any questions.

Yes, I did. I was on an H1-B and when it expired, I used my EAD.

Feb 25 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office for processing

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing
