Today (three days post-interview) our I-485 case status changed to "Card Was Mailed to Me". I checked timelines for other AOS filers in Seattle, and it looks like everyone gets their green card in a week or two. I'm a bit worried because we've had two letters from USCIS returned before, so I think I'm going to check the mail box a couple times per day. Haha.

Today was my interview.

It went very well, we were approved on the spot!!

The immigration officer asked most of the questions to my husband (the US citizen). He asked my father's name, how many people came to our wedding, our wedding date and to tell him about me.

He basically only asked me about the questions that were on the application (the criminal ones and my address).

It lasted about 30 minutes.

I brought photos, wedding invitation, tickets to shows, trips we took together and he took all of these. He said our photos were nice.

All in all, I was very nervous, but it went well and my online status is already changed to My Card is Being Produced.

I couldn't have done it so successfully without you guys and the forum. This forum is full of really helpful and nice people and it saved us a lot of money. For those who are still waiting I wish you the best of luck!! :):):)

Hello everybody:

I want to share my experience since this website have been a huge blessing throughout all this process. We interviewed in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The officer was really friendly, in the beginning He made my husband and I sworn, after this He asked us for our ID or passport. After this He asked my husband How we met? and to confirm his name, address, ssn and phone number, He did the same with me. The officer also asked me for my mother's name, most of the question that He asked was from our forms that already were submitted, the interviewed lasted around 10 minutes and He approved us right on the spot and told us that I will receive my card in the next week. We took more proof with us and more papers to show it to him but He never ask for more papers, but He did say that we were prepared. We took pictures but He didn't ask for anything else.

I forgot to mention that when I submitted my papers I didn't know that I can write my husband last name on the Maiden so the officer asked me if I want to change my last name for my husband's last name so I was happy that He asked me this because I heard that this process can take some time but since He was willing to change it right on the spot I don't have to deal with this in the future. Good luck to everyone that is waiting... And if is there any question feel free to write me :)

First of all, huge congrats to iPod and zwoodward! You made it!!

Second, my husband and I are having quite a day. He interviewed for one of his dream jobs, and it went so well that they offered him the job on the spot! He then came home and checked the mail. We weren't expecting anything since our I-485 case status hadn't changed, but there it was, the green card!! Only took one week after the interview to arrive. :) So happy!
