:help: Heya!

Ok so I've got my happy little NOA 2 in my hand. I know there is still months more of waiting. But I'm unsure of something. In the pre-email I got before I actually got my NOA 2 it said to follow the instructions in the letter. Well there aren't any.

I assume (correct me if I'm wrong) I now just wait. Wait for VSC to mail to the London Consulate and for him to get packet 3. Is that where I am in the process or am I missing something?

Thanks so much for your help!!

~Kim

VSC will forward to NVC which will process and assign a new case number and then it goes to the Consulate. London then will take over the final processing including packet 3

YMMV

Well you can start preparing the I-134 form and any other evidence that needs to be sent to your fiancee in the UK. But other than that its just waiting. It takes about a month for the consulate to get it.

The way it worked for us was the approving service center sent the petition to the NVC. The NVC assigned a case number associated with the embassy that will be doing the interview and forwarded the packet to the embassy. You should receive a letter from the NVC with your case number. At that point you can follow it with the USCIS online. The embassy should send a packet to the beneificary with forms, etc. Each embassy is different in how they do things but how this is helpful for you up to that point. Good luck and congratulations with the approval.

You may already have figured this out.........but if you haven't.......you can call the National Visa Center (NVC) and find out 1) If your petition has been rec'd 2) If your petition has been approved 3) If yes, then what the new case number is (this will start with LND....since you're going through London) and 4) When the case was sent to London.

The phone number for NVC is: 1-603-334-0700. DO NOT use the "automated" line. K-1 petitions move so quickly through NVC that you'll likely keep getting a "no record of that case has been found" message. What you need to know when you call..........your name, your case number from Vermont (USCIS #), your fiance's name and date of birth. I believe it's option 1, then option 5...to speak to a person!

It's likely your case has already come and gone through NVC. It only had to go from Vermont to New Hampshire!

Next, you'll want to check the DHL (that's who the NVC uses to mail the petitions to the embassies.....all of them) website to see if a package was sent to London on the day that NVC says it sent your petition. Go to "Tracking" then "track by reference". In the "reference" field type "correspondence", adjust the date range and put in the zip code for NVC...03801 (double check that). Scroll through all the pages.....there's no way to tell if "your petition" is the one sent to London....but, it's certainly likely!!

London has been getting packet 3 in the mail to petitioner's in less than two weeks from when they receive docs from NVC. Then it'll just be filling out all the info. requested in Packet 3. There's plenty of threads here about that.

Hope this helps some.
