FYI for those waiting for an NVC case number: I called NVC a short while ago. Apparently, they received my file (NOA2: Mar 21) on the 11th, but they scanned it in only today. And according to the gentleman who answered the phone, it may be many days before they assign it a number and make a proper case out of it, etc. So there isn't just a delay in sending files from CSC to NVC. There's also a delay in actually scanning in the files at NVC.

Wow... so much backlog now compared to maybe 1 or 2 months ago :/

Thanks for updating us with the info! :)

Hi there,

Did you as a beneficiary email consulate to request packet 3. I'm a petitioner from US and when I emailed them to request for packet 3, they said they will contact my fiance via mail for packet 3. BTW, what packet 3 you received via email?? thanks

I am the U.S. citizen petitioner, and the packet 3 email came to me automatically.

The process varies from country to country, so make sure you check the procedures for your consulate to find out how packets 3 and 4 are dealt with. Some are only sent by mail.

I believe he put July 22nd.

We put the 5th of July, so I'm curious if that'll have an impact on the interview date, or if its just first come first serve.

Will be interesting to see at any rate. Even two weeks later than yours should still be alright.

It took a week from the medical to get the interview date. Someone who had the medical one week before us has an interview date of May 3rd so it seems like they are getting further out pretty quickly but I can't imagine yours would be anymore than two weeks after ours.

Thanks for the info/ heads up AMZJ . Will do as you suggested. NVC and I will be besties SOON!!!??

In the interim , can I do my medical ?? As I read one can do that with NOA approval and police certificate ? Please correct me if I am wrong ?

Don't get ahead of yourself and shouldn't do the DS-160 visa application or medical until London has your file. This is the instructions for a London K1. https://uk.usembassy...g-for-the-visa/ Don't do any of that until the petition has been approved, the file goes through NVC, and was received by London. They will mail a letter to you in the UK to say "Go". You can go over the list of documents needed for the interview and get those ready now. Get the UK K1 Embassy Letter (EL) at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/ as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Police Certificate is only needed if you have lived in another country since age 16 for more than 6 months. More details on each country can be located here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html

Some of the comments here are out dated and people need to be careful reading everything here- For example:

1. NOA2 hard copy took only 2 days -4/6 to 4/11 to arrive in my mail box in MD. This may not be the case with people in other states but 30 days for hard copy to arrive- it could happen but some of the posts here are out right wrong.

2. NVC processing time is not the same- so no need to say 3-4 weeks before your case is processed- These whole visa process is case by case situation and your 2 or 5yrs experience is not the same case today.

3. The time a case gets to Consulate - is also over kill.

4. The most important thing here - is the document gathering process- that one I give the forum a 10 but all other predictions or estimates are way off the mark, wrong and misleading.

That's my 2 $ents !!

What works for one couple may not work for others. So "MD" maybe right that they received theirs in 2 days but it's not necessary the same for others. I think most here get that. Most here are trying to get an idea because they are anxious which is a normal condition. All cases are different. No two will be the same but what others write here for their experience cannot be discounted. :)

The bad thing about regional sections is there's a lot of countries that don't have much if any information.

True. But if you go there and don't contribute, then others, much like you say nothing and return where they feel comfortable without getting or sharing any experiences. If everyone were to comment and try and help others then the sub-forum for your country would grow. When you discover the answer to a question you had then start a topic within your sub-forum and share your experience and site your information so others can take advantage of your knowledge.

One of the largest sub-forum and most active is the Philippines. :)http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/
