Just done biometrics. The office was busy. Queues out the door. All-in it took almost 2h. And that is with me showin up early (at .8.15 for a 9am appointment). When I left, the queues were twice as long. Makes me understand why my local office rarely allows walk-ins.

Anyone doing biometrics at ASC Elizabeth, NJ - try and get there early!

Hi Everyone

So I did my biometrics yesterday in Denver office and the whole thing took a little bit over an hour.

There was a immigration officer who was the manager of this office and was very nice guy. He made all of the applicants feel very welcoming and he said that we can ask him any questions since he does it for last 20 years and probably knows the answer.

I do not know if that will help anyone but I asked him how long it will take for my work permit and he said 3-4 weeks I should have my card in the mail so he advised to look for the job. I also asked about the green card interview and he said it should take about 8 weeks and it will be better if I come with my husband.

I am not sure if the times are reflected only for Denver office but I thought to share that with you.

It's been 3 weeks now and still no Biometrics letter.

I see posters here are getting their letters in 2 weeks.

Getting worried.

We also went for the biometrics yesterday in the Pittsburgh office. Security was friendly and so were the officers in the back. It went pretty quickly since we were the only ones there. It sounded like the combo card would be processed rather quickly, the 3-4 weeks seems in line from what he said.

Yes, he talked about the timeframe after the biometrics.

did you talk to regular representative (not tier 2?) because they told me that my letter was not send out when talking on the phone and i got the letter in the mail the next day. they do not know anything!

Probably not. They say after 30 days.

But what i mean is that they told me that my letter was not send out and then i got it next morning. meaning as well yours might be on the way.

Planned out our timeframe for when we would send out our AoS, get the I-797 as proof of adjusting status in the works, honeymoon then home in time for biometrics. Got the I-797 three days before we left on our trip, went on our honeymoon and came back to a letter for biometrics scheduled for 2/25. Our planning went perfectly. No problems at all with security to and from Hawaii so that made it even better. Just preparing for bios now and then we can file our taxes together after that is done.

I actually decided against walking in after reading some of the comments on different posts.

The office is about an hour out for me and I didn't want to be turned away because it was too crowded.

My appointment is this Wed so I will let you know how crowded it is or not.

I'm confused.

You mentioned your appt is on the 24th but you can just walk in anytime to do it?

So you don't need to go on your appt. date and can go in before, at any date/time?

How you filling taxes together? If you didn't work I believe you do not have to? Or you mean that your husband will put you as dependadnt? I wonder because my husband is about to do his and I do not want to miss out on anything.
