If you are petitioning for your wife, then it is your wife's passport info you need to put.

First: Those questions are for the preparer if different from the beneficiary, (your wife).

Second. Even if I as her husband prepared the DS-260, I would submit it as if my wife did it herself. Just to keep it simple.to avoid check lists.

That preparer option is really intended when it is actually prepared by a third person besides the petitioner or the beneficiary. Therefore no preparer is to be mentioned and those questions would not pop up.

Hello!

I just went through this process and will share what I did.

I had called NVC to ask when to email the forms. the rep said wait until all fees are paid AND the DS-260 has been completed and submitted. THEN, send in your forms via email. The last fee seemed to take forever to get processed and allow the DS-260 to become available.

My hubby finished and submitted the DS-260 last Wednesday, then on Thursday I submitted the forms via email. Much to my surprise when I scanned everything it came out to 3m, so well within the size allowance and I had all of the tax transcripts from the past three years as well.

Just make sure to separate every document to it's own file like tax transcripts, AOS, etc. I sent it exactly as it shows on the travel.gov site, down to the way they want the file named, and I got my 3rd N/A yesterday less than a week after submitting. I don't know if we got lucky but not complaining at all here.

The cover letter with barcode was the very first attachment, then I followed in the order listed on the original NVC request. All I sent in was listed on that sheet, and only used the NVC cover letter once and everything was sent in one email.

It's nerve-wracking to send off that email with the documents, but if you're organized and triple check you have everything you need and in the order they are requested you should have no problems.

Hope this helps and best of luck! :D

Oh man, thanks soooo much! Lol, you and your hubby are so cute! Your response has helped us soooo much! I don't know why I am so nervous and afraid of screwing this up, but I am VERY emotional right now going through all this. I actually looked after posting last night and saw that our AOS fee showed paid finally and then today our IV fee was unlocked in the late afternoon (hubby checked about 3 est and it was still locked). So that's paid and now all we have left is for the IV fee to show paid and the DS-260 to unlock and I can submit the documents! I am so happy to hear that you are showing your third NA already and I hope ours goes as quickly! Good luck to you two and thank you for responding!!

That is odd... So in your email does it say they received the doc on Dec 9th which you got from NVC. Remember the date on which you get email from NVC is different than actual scan date. Usually scan date will be mention in the attachment with the email. Something like below:

14DEC15

Dear Sir/Madam,

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your documents on 10DEC15. We are experiencing a high volume of incoming mail at this time. Please allow 30 days from the date we received your mail for the NVC to review your documents. We are diligently working to reduce our review time and appreciate your patience. The NVC will notify you after our review if there is additional information required or if we are able to schedule your case for an interview overseas.

I received that email on Dec 9th stating scan date Dec 8th

Many Congrats Mariannamaui. I have a scan date of DEC 14th and just called the NVC who advised that due to the backlog it is taking between 30 and 45 days. I am on day 31 now so will have to just wait patiently but hoping to hear something by the end of next week.

I'd appreciate it as soon as you find out anything about your Visa Interview date. As i will also be interviewing from London and would be interested about how long it is taking now from case complete through to interviewing at the London embassy.

I will let you know! For sure. I think it has been taking between 5 and 14 days to get a slot in London!!!!

Thanks

Hi everyone,

I'm a bit puzzled because there are conflicting advice on filling out I-864 form.

According to VJ wiki, we have to put N/A or None to all of the questions even they're not related to our case.

But NVC said that they do not require “N/A” or “None” to be placed in all blank spaces on Form I-864.

Please refer to the link below.

http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/AILA/AILA%20NVC%20November%202014.pdf

Our agency helped us fill out I864 form and they leaved it blank for questions below. They said that it's fine but i'm still worried that we may get checklist for not putting N/A. My husband is US citizen, A-number is for those who hold green card, I'm not sure if it's correct.

USCIS ELIS Account Number (if any)

Sponsor's A-Number (if any)

Your advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Well, I see a pattern in January, started strong and then slowed down to a trickle. and you are right there thousands of cases every day but the amount of people in VJ is statistically speaking a fair good scientific sample. ( I was very impress with the NOA2 VJ's predictions).

On the other hand I just took a second look to Dwheels76 spreadsheet and went back to 2013 and the CC are pretty much evenly spread out.

I do not KNOW what to think any more!!! I AM JUST RAMBLING, TRYING TO BRAINSTORM.

Although the spreadsheet can be helpful going back past beginning of 2015 won;t help. Back in 2012 when the spreadsheet was started NVC was at the most a 30 day from case# to case complete ordeal. The record is 11 days. Most it took 14 days that was it. This was before all this automation and submitting. Just fees were paid online everything else sent in.

Then the debacle of summer of 2015 happened about April to mid August with the hacking of the Department of State and NVC coming to their knees and nothing happening for so many. Some still recovering.

As far as interview assignment its not NVC asking the embassies for anything. Each embassy sends usually 2 to 3 months of calendar slots and how many of each Visa type they will take per each day in that month.

Once NVC gets said calendar they start assigning. During the select time of month they start as we call "scheduling".

Some months as we have seen through the summer IR1/CR1 is a forgotten Visa and Student Visas, and Tourist and Business Visas rule. :goofy:

As I had stated initially the website showed the 3 N/A's, when I called NVC the rep they were in process of finalizing it. I never said I had Case Complete, just the 3rd N/A.

Since you are still waiting, do you have 3 N/A's showing on the CEAC site?

Ha no I so wish. My scan date is 1/4. So expect CC maybe 2/5 to 2/10. But hey like my profile pic says Miracles happen. :goofy:
