Hello,

What is the best way to provide proof of daily communication for the K1 Visa application? My fiancé and I communicate through Whatsapp more then anything else everyday for months. We are just starting the application and want to start gather information on the best ways to put it together. I have read many things about it but it is not clear to me exactly how much documentation of daily communication is required of our conversations and which method to use to document it. Is one conversation per week enough or do you think more then that is needed? That alone would be tons of pages. Is it better to download chat logs into a program such as Microsoft Word to print it out or would it be better to use screenshots?

I would greatly apperciate any information in this area.

Thank you ?,

Sydnie

We talk everyday too. I have just taking some random messages we have sent. about 10 papers. and then I have 11 papers of random facetime logs that shows we talk very often every month. I downloaded it and put it in word.

Proof of communication is not required for the I-129F petition, which is not an application for a visa. Once the petition is approved, the foreign fiance(e) will be eligible to apply for a K-1 visa at the consulate in their country.

Adding in relationship evidence with the I-129F petition is known around here as 'front-loading', and that evidence is added so it will be in the file for the consulate to see before(or at) the K-1 visa interview. Some consulates will need you to 'front-load' more than others. You should check the regional forum and reviews here for your consulate to get the best idea of how much, and what types of evidence to include with your I-129F.

just taking some random messages

Copies of these communications are intended to show to a total stranger, the Embassy CO, that you have a legitimate relationship.

Random snippets may not suffice.

Most relationships go through a normal process, the getting to know you stage, more intimate communications, the planning the meeting in person, then talk of future lives together, then the visa process, then moving to the US and then life in the US.

Your communications copies should show excerpts from these stages.

If your present communication method does not allow one to show this type of content, then change the way you communicate. Emails are great.

Using Whatsapp you can receive a copy of your chat logs. On an android device in the upper right corner tap on the triple dot, tap on more, and then you will have an option called "Email Chat", you can email your chat log to yourself, including attachments if you so choose. When you receive it in an email, it arrives as a Date and Time stamped txt file. I would do this, as well as taking screenshots of your conversations. I am unsure if you should take periodic screenshots to validate the txt file, or screenshots of everything, someone with more experience should be able to chime in.
