Until the United States and her allies decides to sanction the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia absolutely nothing will change. Saudi Arabia has been exporting wahaabism -an extreme form of Islam practiced by ISIS for decades . Yet, nobody seems to mention these folks. We here people jump on the Syrian bandwagon. The 9/11 hijackers were primarily Saudis. Osama Bin laden was a Saudi national. Has anyone on this thread heard any politician propose legislation to limit the inflow of Saudi citizens? Please, post the link here. All these noise about Syrian refugees is simply smoke and mirrors and I am sick and tired of it.

I read an article about my country former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew's thought on The Future of Islamic Extremism.

According to Lee, Muslims in Southeast Asia were traditionally moderate and tolerant. But in the 40-odd years since the oil crisis and petrodollars became a windfall in the Muslim world, Saudi extremists have been proselytizing, and building mosques and madrassas that preach Wahhabism. Lee argued this Wahhabi brand is a “venomous religion” that has radicalized Southeast Asian Muslims, and marketed to Muslims throughout the world that the gold standard for being a good Muslim is Saudi Arabia.

I am worried, too. My fiance is from Pakistan and I hope and pray that our process will not be delayed or denied because of what those whack jobs did. I am getting fed up with crazies and their vile actions making it harder for good, decent people to make a better life for themselves. I just hope all of our processes go smoothly. Our case is currently being transferred to the embassy in Islamabad.....hope it goes quick!

Afghanistan is worse off too, ISIS are active there as well now, if the news is to be believed.

I'm angry that I voted for Cameron and now he's doing the same thing Blair did a decade before. Random airstrikes in the desert to prevent a Paris attack in London from radicalised EU citizens. None of it makes any sense.

The entire response to this all is borne completely out of fear, and I do mean political fear.

As Senator Cruz mentioned, the US is barely even striking ISIS. I found a link showing as of Sept 22 7000 strikes total from all coalition forces. Compare to the first gulf war about 100k in just over a month. That's because there was commitment.

There is no appetite for troops on the ground, so there are limited air strikes. And Europe in particular is too afraid to get boots on the ground, so instead of cleaning up the mess in Syria, they take much of it in-house (huge numbers of refugees).

ISIS is certainly not being contained and has groups sympathetic to it in many nations.

Nonetheless, I really believe that so much of the middle east is completely incapable of modern, democratic rule (it has yet to prove me wrong), and that the West should completely pull out of it, allow them to return to their natural state of oppression, and get far more serious about immigration from those countries and curtail it more significantly than it already is.

Obviously much worse. We are now in an Orwellian kind of perpetual war with absolutely no end in sight at all. But that's just current and future state. Let's not forget all the money and lives lost because of these foibles in iraq and afghanistan. The NSA is now running amok all in the interests of security which, in plainer words are protecting us from radical islam.

I gotta tell ya, this argument is a fallacy to me. It really bothers me to hear the "The WEST caused it all!" position.

I agree with you more than my post may have hinted at.

I firmly believe, and look back through endless history as proof (and recent to show it's not changed), that the middle east is just quite simply not capable of fair rule consisting of what I consider essential to being a decent nation: free speech, democratic elections, protection for minority classes (race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.). When the oppressive dictators, who are awful in their own right, have been taken out, things seem generally to get even worse. ISIS couldn't be where it is today if not for the vacuum left by America's adventuring around the middle east, but it's certainly plausible that some other group would have come along and done something similar. But, we don't know that for sure.

The US has given weaponry to people demonstrably incapable of responsibly having it. Why were these weapons not destroyed by retreating forces if they couldn't keep them in possession? This is happening all over Iraq. ISIS apparently has over 2000 US Humvees. This is all the result of complete ineptitude on the US' part, the equivalent to giving a gun to a child and being surprised when they do something dumb with it.

They had a lady commentator who was advocating that the USCIS or DHS as she said should put a temporary 2 month STOP on ALL immigration until more safety measure can be put in place due to the CALI incident as she arrived on K-1.

Fox news is half just entertainment. Many of the people on it know quite literally nothing about anything. Even though I'm sure there were some 'Mericans watching yelling "heck yeah!" in their trailer it really doesn't mean anything. Geeze, even our resident crazy presidential candidate hasn't gone that far.
