Just to be clear. It lists on the NVC webstie that I must submit a photocopy of birth and marriage certificates, and only need to bring the originals(along with another photocopy) when I go to the embassy for my interview... correct? I only need to send in photocopies to the NVC? It would also make the most sense at this time since we have to option to submit our documents via email... Anyways, thanks in advance!

Sure they will. We used to send originals to the NVC all the time and as long as they also have a photocopy they return originals at interview.

The directions on the forms themselves expressly state that the presumption is nothing would be returned to you should you send to them. That copies should be used unless explicitly stated otherwise. 100s of threads on this. Never hand over originals for no reason. I couldn't paste from the instructions, but I even went through the trouble to hand transcribe the subtext.

When you go to the beach, you dont wear your good jewelry. If you do and lose it you don't whine, you knew better. Same thing here.

Copies. Unless specifically required that an original document be filed with an application or petition, a legible photocopy may be submitted. Original documents submitted when not required may remain a part of the record, and will not be automatically be returned to you.

The end.

With the i-130 i agree with you but not the NVC. I've been around here long enough to see several NVC changes to know. But copies are all that is asked for and should ve submitted. Keep in mind you wont get the police certificate back but you dont need it.
