This is my first time posting in this group as there was nothing spectacular happening in my case so far and as late October filer I did not expect any update until the new year. I was casually checking my case status today and found that my I-485 was approved yesterday and the card is in production!! I am shocked as I did not even get any notification or interview waiver letter!

Did this happen to anyone else? I mean, my EAD case has not been touched since late October but with the green card in hand I can just work as well, right? I hope this is not a USCIS mistake and I actually get my card in the mail :wow:

Congrats

Yup same thing happened to us. No interview, just went from card being produced to approved to being mailed.

It does also mean that you don't need to worry about waiting for the EAD or AP because the Green Card is your PR and it does all that.

Wow, congrats to you, too!

Thanks for your input, I did not know that this could happen so I did not expect it in the least. All the more happy that it is not a mistake :)

Congrats, @KittyKahlor! I was in the same thread with you during Frankfurt embassy interviews in July :) It seems like you don't need an EAD or an AP!

The USCIS received my applications on October 16, but I still have not heard anything :( I have a job offer to start work on the 28th of December, and so this morning I requested for an expedite of my EAD. I know it's close to the regular approval date anyway, but I thought it couldn't hurt. Who knows what delays I could come across. I'll let you all know how it goes!

Merry Christmas everyone

Oh yes, I remember you! :) I hope everything goes well with your expedite request. If there is any valid reason to approve your EAD faster then it should be that! I had started looking for jobs a week or two ago hoping I would get EAD in time when there might be a job offer coming in.

I hope everyone has a merry Christmas and that there are more approvals coming in before the holidays!

WOW !!! That truly is lousy that they denied. Hoping all will work out well for the sister in law. Will keep you in our thoughts that the AP gets approved or the I-485 gets approved ASAP !!! Keep us posted please. Most folks are saying that once it says mailed, it takes only a couple days to get the cards.

Yes, yes, yes:

"As of December 17, 2015, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status (...) for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice."
No RFE! How long from that note to the combo card production?
I only checked by chance today, normally I never log on. Only wanted to see if anything changed after biometrics.
Oh, technically I am probably a November filer since my NOA came in November - I applied at the end of October.

Scheduling the interview for the I-485 is separate from the EAD and AP application. Keep checking USCIS case status page to watch for the two MSC numbers that correspond to the AP and EAD applications.

We logged into USCIS, the first update said New Card is Being Produced , then it went to Case was Approved. My understanding is that the next step would be that it is in the mail. Unless you signed up to create an account and receive updates, you will get no email or text. We did not sign up, so we have to just manually go in and load the case status page with the MSC number.
