Hello everyone, this issue has been mind troubling lately My fiance and his co-workers once applied for a tourist visa/Business visa early.this year but they were all denied due to insufficient proof. Though, I was aware of the whole thing, with our joint agreements that when he gets to the US with the Visa, he'll go back to our country, because the business trip wasn't even in the state I reside (petitioner). Now, I have filed a K1 fiance petition for him, it's been approved, waiting for a case number before it gets transferred to the Embassy. My question is won't this first visa denial have a bad influence on this newly petitioned K1 visa, because we've been dating since 2009 till date, and I've sent him his copies of proofs too, just worried, pls help!!! tnx

Does anyone know any likely questions that could be asked of him when he gets to the interview concerning this?

Don't get stressed up over that. It won't affect you. I applied for a B1/B2 twice and I was declined. My intention was to visit and come back b4 we file for k1.

Since I was declined, he however filed and I got the visa.

Unless he lied about something, there will be no issue.

Nigerians have a habit of trying all sorts of visas to get to the US. As you have been told unless your boyfriend lied it should be good. However if he made up a wife in applying for his tourist visa he will have big trouble ( having a wife is a very common advise of agents helping people ) Also they may look a little closer at your relationship because he has a record of visa application.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thanks everyone for your response. @Nigeriaorbust, what do you mean by Nigerians try all means to come to the US? . Well as far as im concerned, that was the only visa he had ever applied for, everything in this life is a risk. Peradventure, he had gotten approved then, I wouldn't even had let him overstayed because I know the aftermath consequences, so watch your mouth, and it's not compulsory to give advice. This page isn't meant to.complicate people"s issue but to give a soothing relief to any burdened minds.

It's not about soothingrelief to burdened minds.....it's about telling the truth and the straight way forward whether good or bad. They spoke a lot of truth in what they said, Nigeria is one of the highest fraud countries when getting visas. You can't take it personal.

Nigeriaorbust has almost 9000 posts and knows the reality of the situation....

Anyways, tnx im not taking it personal, and I know that Nigeria is one of the high ranked visa fraud countries. But in this case,I was fully aware of the application and its visa denial. Nevertheless, this first denial shouldn't be used over our evidences over 6years of relationship.

my fiance has two student visa denials and I am not really concerned about it any more. I am sure that he will be asked questions like what did he want to study (if two different things could be seen as opportunistic maybe), why was he denied (closed ended- question), why did he want to study in the USA (open ended to hear whether it makes sense maybe). What i did on my application was list all the red flags that I saw and place them in a cover letter and address each one of them. One of my red flags was Benefiary from a High Fraud Country. We attempted to address that by getting the bachelorhood certificate. so those were some little things that we did to ease our minds, but most of all truth and prayer.

KEnnibabs, are you Nigerian as well? Your writing appears that you are. That should be a huge plus I would think.

U will be fine u didint frame up or lied in your DS-160. Expect any questions from it.

Denial of previous visa application wont be an issue.

Check my posted interview review on lagos consulate, it will help u.

Above all, put your trust in God alone & expect success.

Soothing relief for burdened minds is not what this site is about. It's about answering your questions with the truth and facts so you have

the best chance to be successful on your journey.

A question that may come up for him is : Why did it take your fiance 6 years to file a petition for you.

All previous applications are cross checked to compare if the data is consistent with the current application and if all checks out ok then

he wouldn't have problem.

There was no need to tell Nigeriaorbust to watch her mouth. She was very correct in saying that it's very common for many to lie on tourist

applications about being married in order to have strong ties to their country. She did not accuse him of doing so but merely offered her

knowledge on this subject. We see many posters coming here for help that claim an 'agent' wrote married on the application for ties but

the applicant was not married. Some of us have heard it all and merely offer straightforward advice.

Good luck on the interview and wishing you a speedy reunion.

Tnx Ebunoluwa, as we all know that at least the petitioner must have been a.permanent resident in the States and become a US citizen, and that.is one of the criteria to be met before one can venture into filing a fiance petition. I've been going to school, and still currently and I have all my proofs stating that im a full time student. Anybody that came in to the States in 2010 wouldn't have been a US citizen earlier than this yr (2015).
