Wow can't believe how long people in Egypt are waiting for interviews!!!!! Crazy.

i got CC in July15^th and still no interview. But somebody got interview date with CC on July 22 for India. How is that possible.?

Our case complete was August 27th. Praying and hoping for an early October interview for my wife and everybody waiting!

Does anyone know how long it takes for the NVC to mail your case to the consulate? And how soon after CC do they mail cases out?

There's no specific time. Once they send out its there 2 to 4 days. Usually they go out no earlier than 30 days before interview. I have seen cases not go for a week or 2.

I am in chock! Emailed the embassy to get an earlier interview date and I now have my INTERVIEW TOMORROW on the 2nd!!!!!! SO HAPPY!!!

How on earth did you do that?! Awesome!!

In the first post is a sample email to use. Once you get your interview and it arrives at embassy you can start emailing them. Some embassy want a good darn reason most people just request an earlier date if possible. Some get it some don't it's all about availability and how good you say things in a email.

It seems like NVC would want to work hard to clear out their big backup of cases waiting for an interviews. Who knows, maybe they are trying, but the embassies are over loaded with interviews. I know tourist visa interviews take priority, and we know summer and fall are tourist season in the USA. In October the need for tourist interviews should drop quite a lot.

That's what I thought too, but then I saw elsewhere some people mention the consulate got their package first and then the consulate made the interview.

I wonder if that was specific to their location, or their cases, or if they just misspoke.

Well if its a UR1/CR1 than that's in regards to expedites. In those cases embassy handles the interview scheduling or you get to schedule your own. Otherwise its NVC that has the monthly scheduling and plots in in the slots according to your case complete date.

Received CC yesterday. Not many people from Croatia so also don't know what to expect currently.

We are allowed to do medical without the interview letter, should we go ahead and get it out of the way?

You can, but be aware your CR1 visa expiration date is 6 months after medical.

Also is it that the NVC sends the package to the consulate and then we get an appointment made or do they make an appointment and then send the package?

Embassy and NVC together schedule interviews, NVC sends the file shortly thereafter.
