Legally you can drive your husband's car as long as you don't run into an accident. If you run into an accident, the insurance might not cover for the damages (personal and vehicle) depending upon their policy. Check with insurance company to include u in those car's insurance.

Thanks for your quick reply, i asked my husband to added me to the car insurance , ' joint car insurance' not sure if we can do that or no, it was just an idea in my mind , but it seems like he didn't understand joint car insurance, he said the car insurance insure anybody who is in the car driver or just passenger, i don't understand those things , i know i will be responsible when i'm driving

Some policies do cover the driver's authorized passengers. However, some insurance policies give lower rates for a married couple. He might have both options, but discussing about adding you to the plan will be good.

If you get in a car accident, he is ultimately responsible in most states anyway.

i will discuss again to be added to the insurance plan,

if i'm not added to the car insurance, and saying just saying i get in accident, sure i'm the responsible not him, why he is ultimately responsible if he is not the one he was driving the car?

Most policy cover the car, you don't need to be added on as a driver as long as your have a US Driver Licenses.

You insure the car, not the drivers, that is how it works in Texas with State Farm.

Call your insurance and find out how it works with car insurance

Pretty sure that if you live in the same household both of you have to be on the policy. Call the insurance company and ask them. It is the car that is insured, not the driver, but that applies to occasional usage by another person, say a friend who is dropping you off somewhere or borrowed the car for the day.

Why he is ultimately responsible if he is not the one he was driving the car?

Agency law. If he gives you permission, you become his agent to operate the car. He is still responsible for your actions since he is the owner of the property.

Sort of how you authorize a lawyer to act in your behalf, but you are still responsible for what your lawyer represents in any statements or legal action.

Thanks, in this case to be added in his insurance car is optional and not required, right?

I am in California and I had to be added to the insurance for my husbands car as a named driver. You do get a married bonus though with most companies here

I'm in Texas and my insurance policy requires me to insure anyone in my household with a driver's license. When my guy gets here and we get his license, I will need to add him or I will violate my insurance policy contract.

There are plenty of things that affect the insurance cost. One big thing is credit. When you get added to his insurance policy, keep your credit good to keep your rates low. It may increase (or it may not) in the beginning, but if you build up good credit (secured credit card, for example) you will probably see the rates decrease.
