Hi, my sister's flight to US will be this coming Friday. We bought her tickets online CHEAPOAIR.COM. She is under F2A Category and her first time to travel outside Phils. My question is, is the terminal fee still 550php plus travel tax of 1650php? Will she pay all those fees before departure right? I have read in some that there are travelers that don't have to pay travel tax. Pls enlighten me. Thanks so much

The 550 PhP terminal fee is now supposed to be included in the price of the ticket. Check with the airline. I have been to the Philippines 4 times in the last 12 months, and never paid a separate travel tax. It may well have been included in my airline ticket price. I did pay the terminal fee in December and February; it was included in May and July.

I did paid a travel tax of 200 pesos, I used to pay it in department of tourism, but then somebody told me you could pay it in the airport, in which I did, I also paid the 550 terminal fee, I'm not sure if it's still the same, coz the last time I visit is back in 2014

Check the plane ticket. If its not included then she'll have to pay at the airport. You can call the airline too.

I did. At both Davao airport and Manila airport and that was this past January.

All tickets for flights departing from Manila’s NAIA and sold after February 1, 2015 do have the terminal fee included. During some months there will still be a terminal fee counter for those passengers who bought their ticket before this date. There will also be a control booth where your payment will be verified.

THE FOLLOWING ARE SUBJECT TO THE PHILIPPINE TRAVEL TAX:

1. Citizens of the Philippines
2. Taxable Foreign Passport Holders
3. Non-immigrant foreign passport holders who have stayed in the Philippines for more than one (1) year

Have her check her ticket for the travel tax 1,650 php (currently), I am sure it is included. You will have to pay terminal/airport fees from any airport that you travel from to Manila NAIA. You will have to pay the Terminal/Airport Fee of 550 Php (currently) for Manila NAIA airport.

I always thought having to pay a separate terminal fee at each airport was stupid and pain in the #######.

It was just another way to fall in line and waste time....

Nothing you can do about it. The money is suppose to go towards airport maintenance and facility updates.
