Not where I live. They are as worthless as tits on a Bull. Senator, Congressmen all responded via mail after I requested help then just laid down and did nothing. When I try to follow up the Senators office Aide assigned to me just says he is waiting for response. I will vote Democrat next time. I have been waiting since December. My paperwork went to TSC the other 2 centers are processing within 3-4 weeks I have been waiting over 7 months. This system is totally broken and unfair. I wish I could sue them.

There is nothing any of your congressional representatives can do to expedite AP.

Whenever I contacted by senator's office, they were more than willing to help me. I had an answer within a couple days each time ( and they were checking on my case every week at the end... they even got our expedite request looked at and approved AND they called the embassy after the approval to make sure they knew it was an expedite ) I should have sent flowers to their office to thank them. Our lawyer was useless. As a matter of fact...the lawyer sent me an email 3 months after my husband came to the US asking me if I had any updates. Ummm. I was so angry ...I never responded. I think its the lawyers job to know these things and inform the client. My lawyer was a waste of Money....

Has there been any success in getting a legislator involved?

y

I took my cases to my local congressman many times, and they didn't do ANYTHING. Their only thing that they can do is call or send an email to a supervisor so they can pull the file and review it. After you wait 4 WEEKS to hear an answer, all they say is that you have to send the documents again. Bottom line, in my case they were a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME ???.

As I said above, there is nothing that a congressional representative can do with regards to AP. Certainly, if you want a form response like "your case is undergoing necessary security checks" or "the case is currently within normal processing times" then by all means, but that's about it.

Per the response from another member it appears that they can do something about it.

They can't move AP but they can get some kind of response to your case. It really depends which office you call and if they want to help. Some send an inquiry and Leave it at that others go above and beyond. I do know there is a separate dept at the uscis that only deals with inquiries from the senator's/congressional offices. I always got a response within a few days. Sometimes I even got a timeframe and Then the senator's office would follow up for me.
