Hello guys!

me and my fiance are applying for the k1 visa for our 2nd time now. (first one they basically lost and asked us to reapply after a long time)

They recieved our package the 13th may, but now 2 months later we still haven't gotten our a-number.

Is this normal? we've tried calling multiply times, they've said nothing is out of the ordinary, they aren't missing any papers or anything. (so they say)

Funny thing is, when we applied last time, we ALSO got stuck at the stages BEFORE getting noa 1. So the same situation is happening again. :( this time we are being more vigilent in calling them etc. though.

Basically just wondering if this is something out of the ordinary, and if so, if anyone can give some advice.

Sincerely, worried fiance.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Did you get the NOA1 this time?

You will not get your A number until later in the process, so everything is normal with the timing, assuming you received the NOA1.

no we did not get our NOA1 :( thats why im getting really worried.

and sorry for wrong place. didnt realise.

the A# is certainly listed in the approval notice (not the receipt notice) .

Why need A# at this particular moment in time? What's up ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

i guess i was misinformed, as i thought that was one of the first thing u got before noa1.

Our problem is its been two months since we sent our package and we haven't heard anything from them. we've called them, they've said they have our package etc.

Just getting worried something was wrong. (even though they keep saying there isnt) I didnt think, judging from the may 2015 thread, it could take over 2 months to recieve anything in the very early stages.

It is very strange that you still haven't received the NOA1, that is pretty much just a receipt that they have your application and that usually arrived withing 2 weeks or so. You sent the check together with the application right, so that should mean that they have it and everything is cool. I guess only thing to do is keep calling them, let them know it's been 6 weeks and still not received the NOA1. Good luck! I hope everything works out for you!

you will receive the NOA1 pretty quick.... this usually takes 2-3 weeks. but waiting for the NOA2 will be a killler... we waited from oct/14 until may/15. when we got our NOA2.

which is approval notice.

good luck and the process is a waiting game.

I don't think you read the OP's post properly. The OP has waited 6+ weeks for NOA1.

The payment method was checked and it was cashed. The problem I am facing is its been 6 weeks sine then and we haven't received anything.

did you include the G-1145 in your submittal? yes? no ?

Yes, G-1145 was place in the I-129f its just that we haven't received NOA1 or anything yet and it has been a long for us to have not received anything yet and that is why we are worried.
