Hi everyone -

Sounds like there's been a lot of great successes for July. I'm posting here for the first time, and unfortunately I think something wen't wrong with my application.

I'm a US citizen currently residing in the Philippines and sent off my I-129F form on July 13, 2015 via FedEx from Makati to the Lewisville Lockbox address, with the e-Notification form filled out and everything. I have yet to hear back from the USCIS as of today (8/2/2015), and its already been 3+ weeks, no email, text, or hard copy for NOA1.

My fiancee and I are getting really worried that something was either missing from the application or maybe we didn't include enough evidence (submitted a ton of photos, chat logs, etc.), but I highly doubt this would be the case. I paid the visa fee as instructed by a representative from the US Embassy in the Philippines (visited a BPI and paid the ~P12,000 K1 visa fee), however my application package shows no evidence of this since the Philippines website instructs you to hold onto your receipt of visa fee payment.

Did I do something wrong? Completely in the dark here on what to do, especially since I'm seeing several people filing around my date and getting quick notices. This is every bit of frustrating as it sounds :/

We're trying to make it back to the US by mid next year for one of my sibling's wedding and I would hate to see this process stalled any further.

Any advice is much appreciated.

how did you able to pay the visa fee if you haven't been approved yet?

did you have US address in the petition?

did you include G1145 form?

call USCIS to make inquiry about your case, you should have at least received NOA1 by now

I think what he did wrong was that he didn't send the I-129F "application" fee which is $325, instead he sent "visa" application fee. I'm not sure why he didn't send $325 though as the petition instruction sheet clearly indicates that the application fee is $325. Most likely USCIS rejected the application and send the packet to the US address if it was there in the application.

Isn't the petition fee normally $340? It may be different for other countries so I'm sorry if I'm wrong.

I thought the NAO2 told us what to do next. Then the NVC must be what tells us the next step?

Well after searching around apparently now it's sent to NVC and then we have to wait up to two weeks to call and get our case number, which we will only get if it has been approved. Then its sent to my embassy in London & I am mailed Packet 3. I'm hoping to have packet 3 soon!

Yep thats pretty much it.

I think he used a Philippine address so the USCIS completely ignored it. It states somewhere on their website that you have to be a domicile or have a residence in the US.

It also didnt have the required money order/check inside so I think it also made the entire packet invalid.

He mentioned inquirinng at thr US Embassy so someone there told him to pay the visa fee. So there was a misunderstanding somewhere. I believe they are redoing the entire packet and having someone in the US send it from their address in the US.

OK people! We just got email notification of our NOA2! Approved August 6.

I-129F was mailed 7/18, received 7/21, NOA1 was 7/23.

WAAAAY faster than we expected :D

For the record, we had not been dating more than 2 years; we met in September of 2014.

Now off to the NVC! Best wishes to everyone still waiting.

Congratulations! We have totally identical timelines--down to when I met my fiance, when we got engaged and our NOA1 date--but no NOA2 yet. I know it's way too early to be concerned about it; I'm just anxious because she's from Colombia and they already denied her a tourist visa once. Guess we just have to be patient, and grateful that even if it's a few weeks slower it's still much faster than TSC would have been!

Hi, thanks :) Hopefully you get NOA2 very soon! There's another thread that talks about the approval rate for I-129Fs is something like 97%... so all you really have to do is cross your I's and dot your T's, and it will be fine! ;)

We sent in a ridiculous amount of evidence of our visits to each other... since we live relatively close, we were able to see each other about 10 times, and we included copies of the boarding passes and passport stamps, plus 2-3 pictures, for each of those.. ended up being about 50 pages worth. I was worried it would slow down our application, but I guess you really can't submit too much evidence! She will bring a copy of all of that plus the "proof of relationship" stuff (skype logs, chat logs, emails) to the interview.

Hi everyone :D

Has anyone started calling for their NVC number yet or are you all waiting until Packet 3 comes through?

I assume once we get our case numbers we can start booking medical appointments and the interview right?

After 6 long years apart it is so surreal to think that we'll be together hopefully by November! SO EXCITING. Cannot wait to live in Sunshine State :D

So happy to see everyones transactions are going smoothly.

Wondering the same thing... Hopefully some of the early July folks will check in so we can figure out when to expect case numbers :)

Seems like Montreal is notoriously lackadaisical about actually sending Packet 3, but they are very fast about sending Packet 4 once you send them P3. So I know I will be on the phone with NVC right at NOA2 + 2weeks, and maybe sooner if my patience doesn't hold up...

(603) 334-0700 is the number for immigrant visa inquiries at DoS. They are open 7AM-12 Midnight EST, and most report success calling first thing in the morning or very late at night.

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: United Kingdom
Timeline

Hi Everyone

I'm currently looking at getting police clearance certificates as states in the requirements for the interview. Now I used to live in Shanghai, China and graduated high school there even though I'm a UK Citizen (Dad's job had us moving around). Anyway, I've just called around and apparently I cannot get a police certificate unless I am actually in China.. So what do I do?! Anyone have any suggestions as I am currently panicking that my visa will be denied at the interview if I do not present them with a PCC from Shanghai - which I obviously can't because I am not in the country.
