OMG...The black lady CO is just crazy. We had her as well and we were denied the K-1. She asked me why did I ever come to Ghana in the first place, I volunteered. She said it doesn't make sense me coming to Ghana. I have friends there and she just wanted to say ugly things to me. I was floored at the entire experience. It seems like we had the same interview. It's the most messed up Embassy. This woman is off her rocker!!! Yes something needs to be done. I am getting ready to file the I-130 and if we have her again interview time, I just don't know what we would do!!

I wish you the best of luck on your journey.

The first co was km, we had her Thursday, then we had the black lady Mrs. Gurski on the Friday, She didn't wanna even speak to me I see here on vj that I shouldn't have been ugly in return but when you sit for four hours and she already has a attitude before you even speak well let's just say I returned the attitude! Gurski asked dumb questions also but they seem to like playing games with people's lives at this Emabssy she filled the blue slip out for my husband to get his visa, then looks at me and ask am I sure I want him here in U.S. And I explained to her that he's not someone I just met he's not my boyfriend, he's my husband and yes I need him here and she put the slip back and said she needs to do a review cause I wasn't listening to how she was trying to convince during the whole interview that I should leave him ?, they are completely a mess in that embassy ?

Yes, when the ambassador left he should have taken those moody COs with him. I plan on contacting my reps, senatators and writing a letter to the White House. It really make no sense for federal workers, who are funded with tax payer dollars to be behaving this way. No one else would be able to keep their position behaving like they do.

Please don't think i'm supporting the actions of bad visa officers, but the consular visa program is actually fee-funded, i.e., the visa fees support the operation and it does not receive taxpayer dollars. So, that would not be a good point to include when contacting government officials. You could, of course, say something along the lines of "I would expect that the visa fees I paid should ensure prompt, courteous, informed service."

Do you have a link that says it is fee funded ? If that is the case then denials and repeat applicants would increase their revenue. Hmm.

I was under the impression that the CO's are paid by our tax dollars and can't find anything that says they are fee funded.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

My CO asked me the same thing. I applied for a K1 visa first and was denied. I had already purchased a dress, deocrations, shoes, etc. So we just moved the wedding to Ghana since we were going to be married regardless. She she said she just didn't understand why I would spend 3 years trying to get my husband to the be with me. Good luck with the I-130. I pray it goes better than mines.

I am just really afraid of going another year and then get the white slip. We are very positive but the questions asked during our interview had nothing to do with us. She actually asked me if I got off a plane and just walked to find some where to volunteer. I explained to her I had to apply and when I got accepted to the organization I came to Ghana.

I will be filing our I-130 next week I pray it goes well.

I hope all works out for you and your husband.

So even if it's fee funded, aren't we tax payers as well and don't we fund the state department which is essentially the agent that runs consulate affairs? And even if it was fee funded, isn't that us, the citezenry who pays their salary then. There's no excuse for lack of professionalism at any stage and guess what, they do respond to congressional pressure. They must be afraid of something at least even if it's not us poor folk.

By the way good luck to everyone and I'm confident these issues would dealt with appropriately!

Why are you filing another I-130 ? Your current petition will not expire if you filed a CR1. If returned to USCIS you will receive a NOID/NOIR

letter to which you respond and then it goes back to the consulate. No need to file again unless you received a denial letter for USCIS

after it was returned.

Just checked your timeline and saw you were denied a K1. Yeah, that will expire, sorry for my assumption that you filed a CR1 before.

I have contacted one of my senators and I'm waiting on a response. I did not mention that they are tax funded employees. I highlighted the rude behavior that is ongoing at the embassy and the complaints of many. Regardless of how they are funded, they are still are still federal workers and they represent the US at the embassy. It's torture enough waiting months on end for an interview, so there no need for the mind games at the interview.

Yes, but just like USCIS are government workers, the people using the services are the ones who pay for it, not the general taxpayer. Because both agencies are fee-funded, they were able to stay open and continue to process applications when the government shut down last year, for example. If you go to this site: http://travel.state.gov/content/travel/english/about.html and click on the link to the "CA Fact Sheet" on the second page, in the section entitled "How We Do It", you will see the following sentence: "We are entirely fee funded."

We waited eight hours. We arrived at 7:15 and didn't leave the Embassy until after three. It was a night mare. I can't believe she actually had the blue slip then did that. Yes it's a game to them and they don't care how much you love each other. My husband said to the CO we love each other and want to be together...her response....OH WELL then you wont have a problem will you.

I still can't get over how we were treated. So many people are denied and it's just a mess in Ghana.

It's okay... I changed all my info on my timeline to CR-1. I filed the K-1 July 2014. It took 11 months from beginning to interview and we were denied. Yes it had expired before our interview, but I was informed by the Embassy that was okay for the interview. But our case will be sent back to USCIS. We got married and now I am going to file the I-130.

Thanks for the link. Sometimes I wonder if self funded do they just want repeat filings for more funding. There is a pattern that just doesn't

make any sense with Ghana and a few other consulates.

Wife visa was denied on the 22 of this month but when I checked the status today 25th it says administrative processing. Is that what it's says when a spousal visa is denied? Or something else is going on? Thank you.
