Urgent: Should I Recall my I-129F Package: TSC vs VSC

OP:

I'll be honest, when dealing with the USCIS, believe nothing that they say. Because I can tell you, what they told you was false.

Your case will be going to CSC, you'll be in and out of there in a few months if that.

If you have already sent your case out without an e-notify form, you won't receive email/text alerts. But that won't prevent you from tracking your case online, once you receive your hardcopy notices. If you are moving though, you should be aware you're going to have to change your address with them at some point.

Wow I was never aware that all the K-1 applications sent in around late March were being routed to CSC. My fiance sent in our petition from Florida and we thought it would go to TSC like every other K-1 application since Florida falls under TSC's jurisdiction (if I remember correctly). And then we got this notice that said our case was being routed to CSC and all this time we were feeling super lucky that our petition was 'magically' routed to CSC and we didn't have to go through the TSC BS and that really made us both counting our blessings!

My fiance sent in the application to Lewisville lockbox on 24th of March and its been less than 3 months into the process and I already have my interview scheduled for the 10th of July, could have been sooner but I needed some time to prep for the interview.

So now I know we fell into this route-to-CSC category and no I am not complaining. But its kinda spooky (in a good way) how this new route-to-CSC thing came in just as we sent in our application, the timing couldn't have been more perfect on our end.

So yea if that is how it's working right now I think you should just let your application be @Pawstruck and may be 2 months from now when your case is approved by CSC you will be counting your blessing and be feeling glad that you didn't waste those two months in moving to Boston and then mailing your application.

Good luck with the process!

Hey all,

So I compiled everything and mailed it out yesterday for my I-129F package.

Here's the thing.

I currently live in Kentucky. Kentucky is serviced by the Texas Service Center, which as you all know has extremely long wait times. However, in August (approx. 1.5 months), I'll be moving to Boston, MA.

I understand that it is likely (although nobody can know for certain) that the Vermont Service Center has jurisdiction over applications submitted from Boston. Before you say, "The VSC no longer handles I-129F Petitions," I called the USCIS. Twice. I believe the VSC does indeed process petitions for fiancee visas. This is based on both calls to the USCIS and information from VisaJourney, which, if you look at the "Igor's List" (here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?visa=1&form=1&scenter=2&option=2&sortby=2)you can see that people are being processed at VSC.

However.

It seems that, comparably, very few applications are being processed there. (Last date posted on VisaJourney was April, 2015. The last date from the TSC is yesterday.) It's also not entirely clear that where you live is wholly determinative of the location your application is processed, or that applications from Boston certainly go to Vermont. Igor's list shows two approved applications from Boston through the VSC, but that doesn't mean that ALL Boston-made applications go to the VSC.

My question is this: Do you guys think I should have the Post Office intercept my package, and then re-send it out once I move to Boston in hopes that the VSC will be selected as my processing center?

This seems a bit gimmicky to me, but I'm tempted. Of course it's essentially a gigantic risk, because I could end up waiting an extra 1-2 months until I move to mail it out, only to have it sent to Texas anyway! 8 months just seems like SUCH A RIDICULOUS amount of time to wait... I don't understand why they wouldn't just balance the applications out by sending some more to CSC and VSC... but that's just me.

If I'm going to recall the package, I have to do it today. What do you guys think? What would YOU do?

Your file will be sent by the Texas lockbox to the proper service center. I am a Massachusetts resident and my case was processed through Texas Service Center. Visa Journey is data input by the user, is not in any way an official documentation of where things are processed.

Hi guys !

Anyone have any super recent info saying that new i-129F petitions are still going to CSC (eg. June filers)? Looking at mailing my petition early next week and this would be SO great ! (assuming the workload there isn't crazy ridiculous at this point in turn slow things down)...

There's no official information about the reroute back in March, but as far as the data on VJ show, june filers are still being routed to CSC so you should be good!

Just telling you from experience now:

Our 129F was handled initially by the VSC (we live in New Jersey). But after a month or so it was routed to TSC!

Soo...I'd say don't worry about it and let your 129F rest in the TSC because there is a chance that it may get routed to VSC or even better, CSC. Wort case scenario you wait an extra 2 months, which you would have done anyway by recalling your 129F.

Looking at your timeline, you case was transferred from VSC to TSC right in the same month (August 2013) that everyone on VJ has been saying over, and over, and over again is when VSC stopped doing I-129fs--- more proof that in August 2013, VSC stopped with I-129fs--to the point they transferred them out of the office.

Which, of course, is the exact thing that OP thinks (or thought) was false information because the USCIS hotline told him so. But as we all know and learned pretty quickly, the USCIS hotline is useless.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!
