Interview date finally here at Montreal Consulate- July 27th 2015

Hello friends. first of all I would like to thank you all for your posts. It did help me a lot. I figured its my time to give back some information that will surely benefit some in this journey. I will keep my timeline simple, please don't hesitate to ask me questions.

Aug 23 2013--married

Sept 11 2014-- attempted to enter USA from Pearson Airport with wife, was denied entry. I told them my intentions to apply for green card etc. Be truthful. It helped me out in the long run. I was told to get a petition and visa to enter.

And my visa journey starts----

I did not waste any time

Sept 15--Started petition with help from wife and father-in-law at immigration office in LA.

Sept 26-- Got petition receipt

Dec 15-- I-130 approved, as I checked status on USCIS

March 17-- immigration lawyer asked for docs such as petitioners income tax docs, my birth certificate, marriage certificate---all originals. Also completed a work sheet. Police report.

Paid the fees--i remember 2 fees that I paid online.

March 20--I get a receipt from NVC with MTL #.

Every day I checked it said "At NVC"

I was getting frustrated and so was my wife. Thankfully she was staying with me in Canada, so we weren't separated. But our life was on hold and that sucked.

Jun 11-- I get the "approved letter" from NVC and stated interview date will be given to me soon.

Even though we are both happy at this moment, my wife leaves Jun 17th for US and we still dont have a exact date to look forward to. I read it could take months before I even know when my interview date it.

Jun 14--After farewell dinner for my wife that my friends threw. We come home and she checks her email, randomly. And starts crying. I am like what what what!!??

We get the P4 package email. YAY (So wife changes her ticket, she will stay with me until my interview is done and God willing everything goes smooth we fly together)

Jul 27-- INTERVIEW DATE

My Advice is dont lose hope. Just take care of things that needs to be done, ASAP. faster you do, faster things will go. Please subscribed to email with NVC. I had no luck ever getting anyone on the phone.

Thank you so much. It has been a tough year. But also a blessing as my wife is here with me in Toronto and will be here with me during the interview. Just praying the interview goes smooth.
