My husband wants to bring his mom and dad for a visit to america. But I heard that the visitor needs a compelling reason as to why they would want to go back to their home country like a business they own or something and not try to stay in the US. have you heard of this?

I have.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

When anyone shows up to interview for a non immigrant visa the officer is supposed to assume that they intend to abuse the visa and stay. It is up to the person being interviewed to show the officer that they are compelled to leave after the visit.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

hi

he cannot bring anyone for a tourist visa, they must qualify on their own and as others have stated, show strong ties to their country, they must prove that they don't have immigrant intent, since they have a son here, and if he is a US they could adjust status in the US
