Rubio warns: Christianity could be labeled 'hate speech'

Marco Rubio warned of a clear and present danger to Christians in an interview published Tuesday, speaking of his Catholic faith and how it guides his policy positions.

“If you think about it, we are at the water’s edge of the argument that mainstream Christian teaching is hate speech,” Rubio said in the interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network. “Because today we’ve reached the point in our society where if you do not support same-sex marriage you are labeled a homophobe and a hater.”

The next step, Rubio argued, is going after Christianity writ large.

“After they are done going after individuals, the next step is to argue that the teachings of mainstream Christianity, the catechism of the Catholic Church is hate speech and there’s a real and present danger,” he said.

Christians in the USA are not being subjected to any sort of persecution. What total trash these idiots talk.

Conservatives - especially religious conservatives - are a scared bunch. They love to portrait themselves as victims. It's a pretty common thread with that crowd.

The war against Christmas. Despite the fact that thanksgiving seems to be losing in the battle against Christmas. How dare you say happy holidays to me while I'm out celebrating Christmas by spending thousands of dollars on shiny gifts or my family. It what Jesus wanted.

When I was a kid in school (the Rock Age), we had Christmas breaks and Easter breaks. Now it's Winter breaks and Spring breaks.

The war on Christians has begun. It started with the Jews and Romans around 33 A.D.

The Jewish kids - those lucky bastards also got the Jewish holidays off. I wasn't envious.

There will be no new holidays. No Ramadan break. No Buddha birthday (Buddha Christmas?). No Star Wars Jedi holidays either.
