We received our NOA2 approval text/email on 6/9/2015. I've read that some of you have already gathered info for the next step. What is the next step as far as paperwork goes? Does anyone have any idea where I can read about what to gather? Thanks!!!!

Congrats! The paperwork differs by country, so you should try asking this in the regional forum here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

You can track now with the CEAC website. It might take a day or two before it shows up on there. I didn't see mine show up on the website for about 2 days after I received my case number. One of the first posts on this forum there is a tip on how to figure out and track the shipping once it leaves NVC via DHL.

Interview letter arrived this morning! Interview date is set for July 9 and medical exam is June 25. Everything is happening super quick! I was hoping to be able to make it for his interview but flights are expensive getting me to Portugal then onto France. With time off from work I would be a day too late. Though I did book a flight to Portugal for a mini vacation for us together there with his family before we return to the states.

Congrats! Quick question since we're going through the same embassy- packet 3 says they don't require an affidavit of support, and I've been told by a few recent Paris interviewers that they would not even look at any financial paperwork since they can no longer process them. Will your fiancé still bring the I-134 anyway, just to be safe?

Thank you! Our packet 3 said nothing about the I-134 however our appointment letter had another checklist which did say they wanted "Proof of financial capacity and supporting documents." Our letter was in Portuguese so I needed help translating most of it. I'm not sure but it could be possible that the requirements are different for Portugal compared to France? Either way, just to be safe I would send yours along anyways. I might have went a bit overboard but I'll be sending him with the I-134, my Fed. and State taxes, W-2's, letter from my bank, letter from my work, and copies of my 401K retirement/investments statements.

NOA1 received on April 20th, fiance checked online yesterday and our case was approved on June 3, but I never received a text message or email, But I did receive a text when the packet arrived at CSC. Did anyone else have the same thing happen? I'll just be checking my mail every day for the NOA2. Also, have to prepare for the next step!

Since I received the mailed copy of the NOA2 and the email prior to that saying the package was received and routed to CSC I never received anymore notices or emails. If I had not called the NVC I would have never known anything more until we received "Packet #3" from the Bangkok US Embassy.

When I called the NVC on 6/8/2015 I found out the package had been mailed to the embassy on 6/2/2015. We just received "Packet #3" yesterday (6/15/2015) and inside it said the package was received at the Embassy on 6/9/2015 or one week after leaving NVC.

We are now in the "Packet #3" process.

Good luck to everyone. This has gone pretty smooth for us up until now. No RFE's.

10/11/2009 - Met in Thailand

12/30/2009 - Moved in together

05/05/2015 - NOA2

06/02/2015 - Shipped to BNK Embassy

06/08/2015 - Finally got through to NVC and found out package had been shipped 6 days before.

Visa Application Process at Embassy for Fiance

06/09/2015 - Embassy received package.

06/15/2015 - Received Packet #3 in the mail. This is where I noticed the receving stamp from the Embassy.

08/08/2015 - Mailed Packet #3 (intentionally delayed)

08/09/2015 - Packet #3 received at Embassy

08/10/2015 - Received email from Embassy with appointment date of Aug 26th

08/26/2015 - Given passport back with 221(g) requesting more information to prove "Domicile"

------------ - We had a long voluntary delay for our own purposes which forced us to get another medical.

02/18/2016 - VISA APPROVED

03/04/2016 - Fiance arrived at LAX

03/14/2016 - Married

04/02/2016 - Mailed AOS to Chicago after getting certified copies of our Marriage Certificate

04/08/2016 - Immigration acknowledged receipt of all 4 forms via email and cashed the check for $1070

05/31/2018 - Rec'd NOA of I-751 filing  NOTE: Yes, it took that long

2 weeks after NOA-2, call NVC: (603) 334-0700 (best times: 7 am EST or midnight EST). It may take about 20-40 calls to get put in the waiting line, and the wait time can be about 40 minutes - don't give up, plan to do something else in the meanwhile. :) Listen carefully to the menu options.

Have both petitioner and beneficiary names and birthdays available, as well as USCIS case number.

Ask if NVC has received your case yet and has assigned their number (it will be like MOS2015000000, the first three letters being letter abbreviation code for the embassy, then year 2015, then some kind of 6-digit ID)

If you get that number, write it down.

If no, repeat the whole thing in a week.

Using this number you can track your status all the way to "ready at the embassy" on CEAC website here: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx Note that it may take 2-3 days for your number to actually start registering in the system, and you may get an error for the first couple of days - this is normal.
