Hi All,

We just got our NOA2. I've been looking through the forums and I see some things about calling the NVC to get your case number and some stuff about ceac, and some people just receiving emails and texts about when and where there case is, and something about a DS-160 form. Does someone know the exact process all of this is suppose to happen in? From the NOA2 point, when should I receive what and when should I be doing what? Something like this would be really helpful:

## EXAMPLE AND NOT ACCURATE ##

Action: NOA2

Time after previous action: 5-7 days, Action: USCIS cast status says Sent to NVC (or is this dept of state?)

Time after previous action: 10-15, Action: Days Call NVC to get case number (phone number?)

Time after previous action: Immediately, Action: Fill out DS-160 form to receive updates (?) (ceac.state.gov)

Time after previous action: 5-10 days, Action: Receive update that case has been approved by NVC

Time after previous action: 5-10 day, Action: Receive update that case has left NVC en route to embassy

Clearly this is not right...but I'm looking for someone to help me out with what this should look like :)

Thanks!!

You sort of have the timeline correct. Department of state and NVC are the same thing. Here's their number: 603-334-0700.

Each embassy is different so it's hard to give you concrete instruction when I'm not too familiar with the Parisian embassy. You can track your case on ceac with your case number which you get from NVC, not DS-160. Here's more information from your consulate: http://france.usembassy.gov/fiancees_visas.html. Congrats on getting approved!

Oh, and also, NVC doesn't approve anything. They simply assign your case a case number and sends your file to the right embassy, that's all.

Thanks! That is very helpful. What exactly is this DS-160 form then, and when are we suppose to fill it out and why?

It's an electronic form where the US embassy asks you a bunch of information. The form should be filled out before you schedule your interview, which you will do here https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-fr/niv. I'd wait until Paris receives your case and you've gotten instructions from the embassy on how to proceed.

YOu can read here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/556240-refused-entry-at-embassy-even-w-interview-confirmation/what happened to someone who scheduled their interview before "they were told to". Hope this is helpful

Hey yall,

We received NOA2 on June 26th. Thus far we have not heard back if our case was received by NVC. Would now be an okay time to call or should I wait another week ??

My fiancè texted me saying he called today and FINALLY he talked to a man.

He said to be patient and it might take 20-30 days to get processed and assigned a number and mailed to the embassy. (Noa2 Jun 30th)

But we are gonna try to call back next week too to check...

We read that sometimes you receive Packet 3 without having NVC Case number...

So after waiting for like an hour I got our case and invoice number from NVC, but when I enter it in the website it says "your search did not return any data." Has anyone else had this problem? They just received it yesterday, so could that be it?
