Hey Everyone!!!! We DID IT!!!! My Wife had her interview in Moscow on Tuesday. She described it as very quick. (we HAVE been married almost 3 years, so maybe that had something to do with it) They just asked a few questions, quickly looked at her "photo album", and told her she would recieve her Visa!!! I didn't want to post anything or celebrate until it was in her hand. (I was afriad to "jinx" it) :innocent: She got it TODAY!!! We are ECSTATIC!!!! It's the best day of my life!!!

I would like to say that we really feel like the emails from our State representatives office and our Senators office made a difference. I suggest anyone who is having "problems" enlist your friends and families help in writing to their elected officials and explaining the situation. Politely ask for their help in this matter... you may be surprised with the result. Don't think that they can't help you, these people have "power" to "do things" ie; "make things happen"... I TRULY believe they helped US.

Now our next question is.... What next???? Once she gets here, she wants to work and become "naturalized"... Anybody been through this part yet???

Congratulations on your visa approval and in hand. First off once she comes into the states it is supposed to notify the POE to tell SS office she is in the states if she checked to get her ss card on her forms. Within two weeks to one month the card should arrive in the mail. If not she can go to the ss office and apply or check on the status of her card.

Naturalization I am not totally sure about. I think they have to be in the USA for three consecutive years and then they can apply. I am sure someone with more knowledge can lead you in the right directions. http://uscis.gov/graphics/citizenship/ Check out this website and good luck.

Mary, Thanks so much....She does already have a SS number... her card says "temporary" "must have permission to work"...I am thinking that all we need to do in that case is contact SS and get this status changed.
