Just a little rant because I'm sure you all get this too--

Conversation at least 5 times a day with co-workers, family, friends:

"So what's the next step"

"Waiting for interview"

"When is the interview??"

"We aren't sure, waiting for it to be scheduled."

"Well how long til you find out?? How long does it normally take?? When do you THINK the interview will be??" etc etc etc etc etc questions I cannot answer.

I know they are just trying to be nice and inquire but I guess I'm just so sick of talking about it lol. It is almost like they think you are just uninformed about the process otherwise you'd have more information to share.

My wife and I so relate to this while we wait in our respective countries. Here's a recent favorite:

"The process is just a formality, right? They won't actually deny her a visa, will they?"

I just smile and try to say something polite in response, while inwardly answering: "The hell do I know!"

Nope usually with USCIS any originals they do not forward. It's like pulling teeth to get it back if you ever get it back you have to fill out the G-884 Request for the Return of Original Documents,. Rarely if ever do people get them back at interviews. USCIS keeps.

I'be heard some people saying if you go for citizenship you get all your original immigrant documents given back to you, happened to my mother in law! but wouldn't bank on it lol
