Hello to all ! So I have completed the DS261 and it shows completed . Paid the AOS fee and it shows paid . I then printed off the aos receipt and the document Cover sheet with the bar code . It instructs me to submit the I 864 with that cover sheet and the supporting documents . It also gives address to mail those to with Attn . What I would like to know is when do we do the DS260 and pay fee for IV application? Does that show up later ? Or do we also submit the other supporting documents with financial documents ? The steps on the NVC website seem to be somewhat out of order . Thanks so much for any info ! And this forum has been so helpful as I have looked and read through everything . A wealth of Information! I just feel like I need a guidebook through all of this lol thanks again

you can submit both the aos and iv packet at the same time. You will need 2 AOS bar code cover sheet, use one with each packet. mail them separated in same envelope to the address on the cover sheet. also include the document check list.

The IV fee will become available once they have review the DS-261.You can call the NVC and have them review it over the phone, if it has been a while. Then you can pay the IV fees. After the IV fees are paid you can fill in the DS-260

You are welcome. The sooner you send both packet in the sooner, the NVC can start to review your documents. The NVC is stating it is taking 60 days from date they receive your Documents. You will have time to pay the IV fees and fill in the DS-260,while you are waiting for your Documents to be review. This will save you some waiting time, instead of sending both packets in after all fees have been paid

You should visit this site...it has the latest directions. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

It seems that the government has updated the directions recently. Some conflict with the advice given here.

Nothing conflicts.... where is it conflicting?

What is conflicting with the advise I gave It will save the op about a month of extra waiting time .It is what I and a lot of other members have done as you can see in my signature that I sent in both package before I paid the IV fee and fill out the DS-260 and the documents were receive, as I call them to vertify it.

What is confusing is the directions from the NVC.

By here, I meant the VJ website and its wikis. I would agree with most of the suggestions posted on this thread.

the wiki page, link below, is always current and updated.

always.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
