My friend no registration this year. Jit8187 don't worry let's see next week if you will not get interview letter next week. I hope you will get it. God bless. There are no registration in F2A this year but after May visa bulletin will move more than two months. Please update your case here.

What is the impact of renewing the passport while waiting for interview letter? My passport is going to expire shortly but we may have few months before the interview is scheduled. Thanks.

Hi SWAT,

While going for an interview in the consulate, it is absolutely necessary that you should have a passport that have a validity of minimum 6 months. If you think by the time your interview is scheduled and if your passport expiry is nearby - i suggest to go for the renewal early to avoid last minute rush & unnecessary worries.

Thanks vsubish. We were concerned if we change the passport, the passport number and other details that was previously provided would change. As long as we don't have to update any form for change in passport while the process is on-going that would greatly help us.

This is actually the thing I am afraid of. Passing the September 11, 2013 date will be very important under this point of view.

Technically, they have not started processing people with later priority dates yet at all, as the Sept 11, 2013 has held for several months.

Let's also not forget what Charlie Oppenheim said a few months ago:

"The NVC is now sending out Fee Bills 8-12 months in advance of the expected priority date becoming current. Previously, the NVC had been sending out the Fee Bills 12-18 months in advance."

Considering that people with later PDs have received fee bills only in February/March we are still far from the minimum of 8 months mentioned.

The above mentioned is not correct, NVC started processing my case again last month, when I sent in my document and called to confirm it was delivered, the rep repeated more than once that as soon as my case is completed, my interview would be scheduled, going by the current trend in the visa bulletin, are you saying September 24th 2013 priority dates and later would be current in 8 to 12 months when from the last person that received IV, I am 25 days away from being current? Remember visa allocation has been barely used for this FY, after the retrogresdion we have not seen any jump, although am hoping it goes slow and steady and not jump because huge jumps have been observed to be a major cause of retrogression. Let's keep hope alive.
