Permanent Resident applied for son over 21 but now is married

Mother in law a permanent resident applied for her son that is over 21 but at the time she applied he was not married. He got married few months back and there is no category for married children over 21 for a permanent resident. Does anyone know if the case gets canceled since the son has married or it can be transferred for example to my wife as she is a US citizen and there is a category for US citizen applying for married siblings.

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sure your wife can petition him its a 7 to 8 year wait.

Case nt cancelled If he got married after his mother became a US citizen. He has moved from f2b to f3 category. The wait is longer for this visa category. Good luck.

Mother is not a citizen the sister is though.

Exactly. So my wife will have to do a new case?

There is no such thing as a transfer of the case from my mother in law (green card holder) to my wife (us citizen)?

My wife's brother is married now but when my mother in law applied he wasn't.

Mom is an LPR. She cannot petition for a married child. The petition is canceled the day he married. Even if he divorces the petition is cancelled. Wife can file a NEW petition and he wait time will start from day zero.

Siblings is 13 years or so as a reasonable guess.
