Hi, all.

I'm new here.

My fiance and I are starting to gather documentation, etc for the K1 visa.

I just found this site and it's like heaven opened up, it's so helpful and there's so much information. What seemed like a daunting process now looks clear and even, dare I say, easy? (I'm a natural born optimist)

Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself, and oh, yeah, ask a question.

What does it mean that you're "touched"? Keep reading it in entries and I wonder what it means.

Best.

Anna

Welcome to the group!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope Your filings and dealings all go great with our wonderful USCIS.

Touched means Once You file Your paper work You will have a receipt number on it that You can go register your case and receive updates as it goes through the process. Sometimes when You look at your case on line the action date will change but with not update as to anything happening. Meaning somebody touch Your application.

Hi and welcome to VJ. In case you haven't already found it.....have a read of the K-1 Guide

Once you send off your petition and receive a receipt number you can check the status of your petition HERE You can also elect to have updates by email as well. Keep in mind though that the online status info is not always updated. Sometimes, as can be born out by many here, their cases are not even entered to be accessed online.

To get an idea of processing times for the various service centers you can check HERE

Which service center will you be going through?

All the best on your visa journey.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Thank you all. I've "dissected" the site already and it's soooo informative.

We'll be going through Nebraska and the Amsterdam Embassy, so not too bad.

Will keep posting and certainly will visit back to check how everyone else is doing.
