I'm no expert, we are still going through this process ourselves, thinking what I would do.

Perhaps your congressman could help you or I guess I would email the consulate explaining the situation and ask them. What approval notice do you have, the email notification?

Is your attorney nearby so that you could go there, maybe speak with the secretary and just say you're there to pick up your NOA 2. Show them the email copy as proof......

Maybe speak with your local law enforcement agency, file a complaint, ask for help. If someone has something that belongs to you I would like to think it's their job to help retrieve it. Should border on theft, and a government document as well.

Keep digging till you've exhausted all avenues. Someone along the way should have some idea of how to help you.

The NOA2 wasn't required at my fiance s interview. All consulates are different, but that document is addressed to the US citizen and I don't think it is expected for the fiance to bring it to the interview, the necessary information regarding the status of the case is sent from NVC to the consulate. In our case, and I'm sure every case, they sent a copy of the I129F that is stamped approved with other information on it such as case #, alien #. The consulate sent us that information after they recieved it from NVC.

Sorry to bring this up once again but any information or advice will greatly help. My ex attorney still will not respond or make contact with me after several attempts and I am fairly certain she has the original approval notice. My approval notice specifically stated the original would be sent to the attorney on record. I have called USCIS several times to try and obtain the original document and they won't do anything for me. Is the original notice needed at the interview or just for AOS? Still haven't gotten the interview date but if it is required at the interview I am just worried I am running out of time. I really don't want to get another attorney involved just to get this notice!

You shouldn't need to get another attorney involved, send your ex attorney a certified letter requesting your original documents back depending on your state attorneys are given a certain time period in which they have to return original documents to clients. In your letter let them know that if they do not return the documents that you will be reporting them to the state bar association, no attorney wants a complaint listed with the bar no matter how minor the complaint may seem.

The NOA 2 is not required for the interview. It will be needed for AOS. This document is intended to be retained in the U.S. by the petitioner for this purpose. It is not expected to be sent to the beneficiary.

Thank you. It's nice to see some neighbors who have been through this experience too. I really can't say enough about how welcome our friends and family have made us feel since we arrived. I think it helps that we've spent a lot of time here over the years and have a close bond with William's family, as well as an established circle of mutual friends. But even with that, the efforts by everyone here to make us feel right at home has been heartwarming.

How we you guys doing? Has there been any progress on your case since you last posted?

Hey everyone I have question.

Is there any other way to see that I'm approved besides they told me at the interview? Like website or some?

Not until this issue is fixed. Scott still can't see his approval (or so we hope being they just said "looks good" and his interview was the 16th). Congrats though!!!
