Got e-notification text that my pack was received Feb 12 2015 in Texas Service Center [sRC#####]. NOA1 to follow in mail. Let the waiting game begin :clock: for NOA2. Did anyone receive a NOA2 pretty quick (1 month) from Texas ?

desi123- I received my email and text the same day you did. My petition will stay with Texas. booo but I am going to think positive thoughts and hope a miracle happens that I get an NOA2 in a month. Can't hurt but in reality from looking at timelines it's around 2 months sometimes longer.

Keep the positive thoughts try not to think about it.

I do have to ask the website you can check the status of your petition. How long does it usually take for your case number to show up?

Thanks Bro. Got a txt , case went to SRC [ translation : Texas :hehe: ] . I'll pray for a miracle for all of us. My fiancee and i are super tensed about these longer waits in TX.

I was reading about DACA on the web uscis.gov, and i saw this 'Accordingly, the Department of Homeland Security will not begin accepting requests for the expansion of DACA tomorrow, February 18, as originally planned. Until further notice, we will also suspend the plan to accept requests for DAPA.'

I'm also hoping that the lag at TSC will speed up on K1 cases.

Currently, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is not accepting applications for the expanded DACA program for youth or the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) program. USCIS continues to accept renewal applications or initial applications from people who qualify under the DACA criteria announced in June 2012.

I guess that's good news for us legals in waiting..

Here's the link to the case tracker : https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Just enter your receipt number example : "SRCxxxxxxxxx"

Guesstimated timelines from USCIS : Yikes ! TSC still stuck with June 2014 applications . Page last updated on 31st Dec 2014.

question to you all,

I sent in my paperwork for a K-1 visa and all it shows online is the Received case status. my question is.... is that the NOA1 or no? I have received some form in the mail and I do have a case number. I am going thru the CSC so I know it will be some what fast but I haven't seen any movement on it and want to make sure it is right.... oh ya they have cashed the check also.

Yeah it the NOA1. You should recieve the hardcopy soon. You are very lucky to be a CSC according to the trend they have established. You still have to be patient. 1-2 months you will likely have approval.

wow i viewed time line for many of you guys specially CSC , which takes on average 20 days between NOA1 and NOA2. Fortunately they have also sent our case to CSC :) .

we were expecting NOA1 but we got a letter I-797C. should we consider it as NOA1 . this letter actually says our detail and nothing much. Should we get our NOA2 by the end of this month or 1st week of march?

please some one clarify NOA1 and I-797C letter.

Best wishes to all of you.

Kind Regards

Awesome!! Good luck, praying for a fast approval. Kind of fun checking things out on this site and meeting people with the same months we sent out apps.. Can't wait for the day we start talking about approvals!!

I think some people may be upset, but I saw on the USCIS site that they postponed allowing apps for DACA. Hopefully, if the TSC was preparing, they hired a lot of people thinking they would have to process these apps. Which in turn, I hope means that now they can focus more on K1 visa's for the time being. Maybe they can play some catch up. I see they are approving apps from August now which is a good sign. Although that is 6 months, I think they will pick up the pace.

Right after the President's announcement fort he expanded DACA, USCIS opened up about 1000 jobs, all based in Northern Virginia (DC suburbs), and leased a building here (apparently. I haven't seen any follow up to this). Allegedly, the plan is/was for all the DACA applicants to be routed to this facility, so in theory it should not affect anyone else. Now, in practice......I am doubtful. I also don't know if they hired all 1000 people (or any at all) or if those job listings were to look good. I don't know if these people are trained yet, or if they're diverting resources to training the new folks. But the plan and the evidence looks promising. Now, what the issue with TSC is, I'll never know.....but I'm trying.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!

Only if you get expedited (Philippines, Army etc).

I've been doing some stats from Igor's list, it's definitely getting worse I'm afraid. Not including expedites, they process about 20 forms a week and average length of NOA1 to NOA 2 is 200 days.

K1 Timeline

November 21st 2013 - First Met

November 18th 2014 - I-129f Submitted

November 24th 2014 - NOA 1

May 22nd 2015 - NOA 2 - no RFE!

June 4th 2015 - Case Sent to NVC

June 6th 2015 - NVC receives case

June 15th 2015 - Case Sent to Embassy

June 16th 2015 - Phoned NVC and finally got case number (tried 12th June and had not been assigned)

June 16th 2015 - Medical booked

June 21st 2015 - Sent Packet "3" - DS 160 and readiness

June 25th 2015 - Embassy sends letter in receipt of receiving case

June 30th 2015 - Medical

July 28th 2015 - Interview - Approved!

August 3rd 2015 - Email request to collect from courier office (Went straight from "Ready" to "Issued" did not see AP in CEAC)

August 4th 2015 - Collected packet from Chancery Lane Courier Office

August 7th 2015 - Arrived in Houston and end of K1 journey :)

Adjustment of Status Timeline

August 10th 2015 - Applied for SSN, obtained SSN number next day

August 15th 2015 - SSN card arrived

August 20th 2015 - Married! :)

August 24th 2015 - sent packet to USCIS via FedEx [AOS, AP & EAD]

August 26th 2015 - packet received at USCIS

August 28th 2015 - NOA 1 for all three applications

September 15th 2015 - RFE - request 1040A, W2's was not enough

September 24th 2015 - Biometrics completed

September 28th 2015 - RFE response received by USCIS

October 27th 2015 - EAD approved
