Just updating info. I just got text and email stating that we place you in line for oath ceremony.... I'm sure I will get my oath letter within few days.

Good luck to you all.

Congratulations, just be patient because they usually don't send the letter until your status changes to "oath scheduled". So you have one more step to go. Some people spend just a few days in the in-line step but others may spend a couple of months. Sometimes they skip steps, too.

Hope you get your letter soon, but it's likely (though not certain) that you'll get one more status update before you get anything in the mail.

Thank you,Jimmy. I'm so excited to get the oath letter as there will be a ceremony in the last week of this month in Oakland,CA. I want to catch up that ceremony if possible or next month.

When you registered for Selective Service, they should have sent you a letter in the mail confirming that, along with a paper card id card that says your selective service number. Or you could print out a confirmation from their website when you enter your info

http://www.sss.gov/default.htm

..then go to Check Registration:

https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfVerification.aspx

This Selective Service Evidence is also required for my interview, but i do have the card i got in the mail.

Good luck!

Hello SaltUponWounds,

Thank you for your reply.

I ask this question because this was mention as one of the requirement to bring on my Interview Letter.

I don't believe I have registered for Selective Service and I did not get anything from mail.

So, I should just ignore this requirement, right? Stil a bit unsure though.

If I may ask, do you register because it has something to do with your job?

If you lived in the sataes in any status but legal non immigrant status, and you were between age 18-26, then you have to register in selective service. If that doesn't apply to you then don't worry about it. If you were required to register and you didn't register the cicitzenship application most likly will be deined.

So we can help you better

All males between 18 and 26 who are in the US illegally, as immigrants, or are US citizens are required to register.

If you fail to register, your natiralization could be denied for 5 years from the end of the registration period. So that means that if you are a male and fail to register you may not be able to apply until you are 31.

So... are you male? Did you get your green card before you turned 26? Were you in the US illegally between the ages of 18 and 26?

Those questions will determine whether or not you have to register and if you still have time to register.

Thank you so much for this explanation.

I am clear now, I am male but I was 37 y.o when I got my Greencard and enter USA.

Therefore, I will not require this. Thanks again.

No, if your field office offers juridical ceremony, you will get both naturalization certificate and a name change court order decree.

It really depends on your office. Generally, the response above is true... you just need to wait for the next judicial oath. But some districts don't schedule many of those. I'll let New Yorkers reply but from what I've read, it should make much of a different in NYC.

More info on name change delays here:

thank you! very helpful info, here's what i found for NYC

The New York City Field Office Judicial Ceremonies approximately 3-4 times per week.

I see some other guys who had interviews in NYC in may, already got some notice about the oath ceremony. i am still waiting, i think my delay is because i did not bring my marriage certificate for my interview, even though my wife is here on tourist visa.

they requested additional evidence - a copy of my marriage certificate, i sent it the same day with express delivery it says it was delivered, but from that day no news.

has anybody have a request for additional evidence after interview? are you still waiting for your oath ceremony?
