Depends on what visa you are interviewing for.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Everyone goes in AP for last minute check until visa

gets issued , Jamaica most time does not wait mths or

yrs like some countries...your consulate will get the

electronic file and your approval info, then you will be

schedule for an appt. to drop off PP....if you waited over

6 mths for waiver a new medical will be required & maybe

police record but they will get instructions to you. Once

you drop off PP could be a few days or wks in AP . You

can go to CEAC and see status update...don't be alarmed

if you see REFUSED it says that until visa gets issued

Ok Emily2020 thanks for the info... But do u knw why they would even want to select a background check...?

everyone who interviews for a visa gets a background check. If you don;t have a criminal history why are you worried?

OP mentioned in her other thread that she is being petitioned by her grandparent.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Ask your grandmother?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
