TSC JULY 2014 FILERS - NOA2 APPROVALS

Yep, you only need the case number and your UK police certificate. I would order that now - it only takes up to a week but it's good for 12 months. http://www.acro.police.uk/

This is also very helpful: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/ I would verify some of the items in the guide still hold true.. ie: you now need 4 passport photos not 2.

The London embassy has an updated 'instructions' and questionnaire for Knightsbridge, if this is where you are going.:http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv018a_medical.pdf(this was updated January 2015)

Also helpful: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/index.html

You can get started on the DS-160: https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx(either of you can fill this out, or both of you, but the beneficiary must be the one to digitally "sign" off.) - This can be worked on ahead of time and in pieces as you can save it. Do not fully submit this yet - I haven't researched if DS-160 can be submitted prior to your fiance receiving their packet or not, but it can be saved.

Everything can be done except completing the readiness form and having the interview. For all of that you need to wait until the London embassy sends your fiance in the UK his or her packet, which has instructions and other information.

Good luck! :)

Thankyou so much!! This has literally answered so many of my questions! Amazing help!!

NVC is my new frustration - case is not in their system yet so no number. I got the 5 week comment from them and my congressman's office just called and said the same thing. My worry is that it seems the numbers come out quite quickly or you get stuck in NVC no man's land like many of the CSC cases... hopefully it is only a worry and when I call on Friday I'll get a number.

NOA2 1/15 and shipped 1/23.

End of my venting...

I guess those snowstorms just messed up with everything. It was 3 days closed and 1 with delay totally right? bad timing for us; hopefully you can get your number assigned this week. After waiting so long on TSC any kind of waiting from now on sounds like torture, seems longer than it really are. Can't wait for this drama of waiting be over.

So just doing the I-134 Affidavit of Support. What supporting evidence is needed for this? We have:

- Bank statement for the last 2 months showing deposits from salary

- printed pay cheques cross reference with the above deposits

- Letter from employer confirming employment and salary

Is this enough? I have read in a number of forums needing to get a tax return statement from the IRS?

Thanks

You need to get a bank letter that shows your bank deposits for a year. I have one done if you would like to see it. I can send it to you in a message.

You are so right! After TSC there isn't much room for tolerance. Our petition was received yesterday - no case number yet but one step closer.

My understanding is that you DO NOT need a bank letter unless you are using assets on deposit to supplement the minimum income requirement for the size of your family. If the petitioners income is above the poverty line that is the only item that needs supporting documentation. The W2s support the employment income in the past, current pays tubs are the present, and the letter from her employer documents probability of continued employment.

Lorvin is correct. The official instructions for the I-134 only state to submit what is valid for your circumstances. If you have a stable job, full-time or whatever it may be, that provides the poverty guideline amount or more, you don't really need much else. You could always go overboard.. but it really isn't needed. I am submitting 6 months of paystubs, my most recent two years of tax transcripts and a signed letter from my employer stating my salary, start date and that it is a full-time job.

The bank letter would really only be needed if you were supplementing income with savings, were self employed, had trust funds/bonds/stocks/mutual funds/etc.

I doubt her having the job only since August would be an issue, but if it makes you feel safer, have her employer draft and sign a letter (needs to be a wet signature) showing that her employment will continue.

I didn't know that. I thought a bank letter had to be done to show a years worth of deposits. I am having one done just to be on the safe side. Ghana is a hard Consulate to get a visa from. I don't want any problems so I have to cover everything needed or not...As soon as I didn't do one they would want it (haha).

Yeah, a lot of the documentation asked for is really dependent on the situation and the consulate you have your interview with. I believe Jay&M are from the UK, London is much easier than many of the embassies out there. It's best for every person to read up on their embassy and the expectations in those forums, many people write reviews of their experiences. It can't hurt to be prepared! Go with whatever you think will help your case :)
