TSC JULY 2014 FILERS - NOA2 APPROVALS

Well, our NOA2 arrived today.. TSC is pretty speedy here, we were just approved on January 23. Unfortunately there is a typo in the NOA2. I contacted TSC and they raised an inquiry. The NOA2 just says 'was forwarded to the listed consulate', but no consulate or NVC/DOS was listed. This isn't a big deal though, they will probably reissue our NOA2. I plan to keep both. The agent said that our petition was in fact shipped on Tuesday to the Department of State, the NOA2 just has a clerical error. I will be keeping on top of that and looking to call the NVC on Tuesday. :)

Same here. My case number starts with RDJ so it's going to the right place.

I have yet to see our case number, I will be calling this coming week. What does RDJ stand for? I assume if our case number begins with RDJ it went to the right spot?

The letters stand for where they are going I think. RDJ is Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With you I would guess it would be LON for London.

Yep! The letters mean the city it's going. If the consulate that process k1 is in London probably will start like Maria said or with LDN idk. I notice that the letters are followed by the year, if it's a standard can be LON2015....

Great, thanks to both of you! I didn't even think it would have the consulate abbreviation there.. I verified with the agent on the phone that it WAS sent off to the DOS.. Now, come Monday or Tuesday I will call and see if they received it yet. Considering all the weather we're having lately it may get delayed.

I'd leave it like that. It's not a major typo and address it at the embassy level.

Welcome aboard! Our petition was sent to NVC on January 23rd - just spoke with NVC - not "received." Could be there, but not yet scanned into their system. Although NVC says it takes 32 days, I call every other day because (when you look at others timeframes on VJ) it's more like 10 business days from when USCIS forwards it.

Their number 603.334.0700.

Good luck.

How do you know when TSC has sent it to NVC? Or do we need to call USCIS and ask?

Your case status page will update to this:

My Case Was Sent To The Department of State

On January 27, 2015, we sent your case, Receipt Number SRCxxxxxxxxxx, to the Department of State for visa processing. Please visit our website for general information on Consular Processing. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Ours took about three days to update, but it varies.

As for the remaining steps, there is a lot of weather in the NVC area lately and they were closed yesterday, probably today as well. I would gather this is slowing mail down as well with "receiving" cases. Luckily you can call and get your case number when they have it, and then begin the next steps without having to wait for your embassy to receive your packet.

Thanks for your message! Really helpful :-)

So, as soon as I have our new case number from NVC, we can book the medical without receiving the letter from London embassy?

Yep, you only need the case number and your UK police certificate. I would order that now - it only takes up to a week but it's good for 12 months. http://www.acro.police.uk/

This is also very helpful: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/ I would verify some of the items in the guide still hold true.. ie: you now need 4 passport photos not 2.

The London embassy has an updated 'instructions' and questionnaire for Knightsbridge, if this is where you are going.:http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv018a_medical.pdf(this was updated January 2015)

Also helpful: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/index.html

You can get started on the DS-160: https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx(either of you can fill this out, or both of you, but the beneficiary must be the one to digitally "sign" off.) - This can be worked on ahead of time and in pieces as you can save it. Do not fully submit this yet - I haven't researched if DS-160 can be submitted prior to your fiance receiving their packet or not, but it can be saved.

Everything can be done except completing the readiness form and having the interview. For all of that you need to wait until the London embassy sends your fiance in the UK his or her packet, which has instructions and other information.

Good luck! :)
