Not yet. Go to get her briefly.

Everyday I bring donuts and coffee from Dunkin' for the staff at the nurses station and at the nursery. Aside from truly being grateful for the kindness and care, it's absolutely amazing how far a few donuts and a gallon of coffee can take you :)

Have you seen the food hospital staff get at the canteen???

Yes, it's good to stay on the good side of the maternity staff.

It's amazing how much free stuff the nurses gave us when I had my little girl. We came home with bags full of diapers and wipes, ice packs etc

Oh it wasn't free, they bill your insurance for everything.

My husband had to pester the hospital for an itemized bill rather then the one they just send you. He likes to see what they charge for everything.

Ah really?

So glad we had good insurance for that birth. And no co-pay. Otherwise I would be wondering right now how much those diapers cost us!

There was also a food gift basket for the first night home so we wouldn't have to cook - included pint glasses with the hospital's maternity unit's name and branding on. I wonder if they charged the insurance for that too?

Not sure about the gift basket, but I wouldn't be surprised if they found a way to hide the cost in there somewhere.

The gift basket was nice, they don't do that around here.

Depends on a lot on the hospital, but it is sometimes really good and sometimes not so much so. A lot of modern/bigger hospitals have a whole variety of food options.

<---- Has spent too long in too many hospitals over the past 10 years.

So, the little one got over the stomach bug or so I thought, she was fine most of Monday, Tuesday, and Yesterday. Then, last night the stomach pain is back with vomiting and she doesn't want to eat. Then, this morning more pain and not eating, so alas, she is going to the clinic shortly. My paranoid mom self needs to rule out appendicitis or I will go crazy with Dr. Google.

Nola that is how my daughters appendicitis was. She said she was feeling better then when the infection set in the pain was back.

Hopefully it's not what is going on with your daughter.

She has been drinking a lot. They are going to give her an ultrasound and do some bloodwork.

Poor little one, and poor you. It's the worst when your baby is in hospital.
