... the cold that is coming is a lock. It's going to get really mean folks. First in harm's way is the North Central part of the country. The arctic front will blast through this region Thursday and Friday. Strong winds and blowing snow will accompany the frigid weather producing localized blizzard conditions. The wind will magnify the cold making it feel like 40 below zero. The behemoth blast of arctic air will spread throughout the central states this weekend then plunge into the East next week.

Winter storm warnings in effect here with sleet moving in from Alabama turning to freezing rain in Atlanta area and snow north of Atlanta. About 15 degrees overall colder than usual here for the next week or so:-(. Expecting the freezing rain to start around 3 am so there will be a good - or bad - cover on the ground by rush hour traffic. What a nightmare that will be! Wish my husband didn't have to drive in it.
