So on an interesting and unexpected note, my other Senator's office called me today (I screen my calls if I don't know the number) and left a message stating that they want to talk to me about my case and the differences between CSC/TSC processing times. Surprised I actually had someone call about the message I sent earlier this week.

Virginia residents - it was Tim Kaine's office this time.

Cristin,

Way cool, please let us know what comes of it. Funny that this happened to you because my congressman's office called me regarding my letter today. We had a good conversation overall but there were a couple of WTFs I had in there.

I'll post more in the September thread, but the upshot was that she was going to call both service centers and complain about the processing time differences.

Caveats abound but it was something. I suppose.

9/8/14 - I129F petition sent to the USCIS lockbox via USPS
9/11/14 - Petition received @ USCIS lockbox
9/11/14 - NOA1 Email and text message received
9/15/14 - NOA1 Official notice date
9/18/14 - NOA1 hard copy received
12/9/14 - "Updated" likely because of website repairs, like many of us received
4/20/15 - NOA2 text and email (221 days)

4/29/15 - Sent to the NVC (9 days)

5/8/15 - Arrived at the NVC (9 days)

5/13/15 - Left the NVC (5 days)

5/15/15 - Electronic version arrived at the embassy (2 days)

5/20/15 - Paper copy arrived at the embassy (7 days)

6/4/15 - Status changed to AP (which meant that we could schedule the interview)

6/16/15 - Medical

6/17/15 - K1 APPROVED!!!!

6/30/15 - Passport and sealed envelope delivered via courier

I posted this in the other forum but wanted to share here:

Ok I'm home so I can write, yeah!!!! I work at a college that specializes in advertising and social media. All of our international students go through TSC and feel the same way. The goal is to not forcus on the K1 but the processing times in general. I think that connecting it to the new immigration reform would be a good way to bring the issue to light, aka if they can't process in a timely manner how will the handle the influx of cases once they can apply.

I have a few students brainstorming on it. I also contacted our PR person for her take on it and to get her media contacts. I think that to bring the issue to everyone we need to find a way to make other people care, aka repost.

Unfortunately this isn't a quick week thing, but I will start working on some sort of plan so we can at least feel like we're doing something and getting our voices heard.

Any ideas, complaining, people that think this is the crappiest idea ever, let me know. Even the naysayers have good ideas in their posts, unintentional of course. hahahahahaha

I'm excited to hear that some congressmen are calling people back, it's a start. Even if this doesn't help my case maybe we can help people in the future.

Any social media experts out there?

Best,

Kristin

No, foreign fiancées birth certificate is not needed for petition. She will need it for her interview. There's no way to know what the RFE is for until you get the harcopy in the mail. Could be as simple as forgetting to check a box on the petition.

So an update on the letters I sent out on Monday!

I heard back from the Congressman's Immigration Rep:

"Good afternoon, Ms. Gulino –

Thank you for contacting the office of Congressman Jim Langevin. I handle the immigration casework for the Congressman in his Rhode Island District Office.

If you would like, please give me a call at your convenience so we may discuss your immigration issue.

My normal hours in the District Office are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm.

Sincerely,

Emily Costa

Emily M. Costa, Constituent Services

District Office of Congressman Jim Langevin (RI-02)"

Yay!! Unfortunately I can't call until Tuesday due to my work schedule, but that will give me ample time to prepare exactly what I want to say. Here's hoping.

When filling in your timeline, please understand that all I-129F's are sent to the LOCKBOX in Texas, and then ROUTED (not transferred) to your ASSIGNED service center- the one in Texas "TSC" (not the same as the lockbox!), or the one in California "CSC". If your tracking number starts with WAC, you're at the CSC, you were not transferred! There are no transfers at this time. If your number starts with SRC you're at the TSC and that's where you will serve your entire sentence.USCIS isn't fair.

They don't care about you.

Good news/ bad news.

I receieved a reply about my congressman's inquiry today in the mail. Ps. he accidently sent the inquiry to CSC instead of TSC.

"If the petition had been receipted into the California Service Center on that date, (Nov. 28) the processing time would be five months from the receipt date of the petiion into CSC. It appears that there is a one month difference between the TSC and CSC processing times."

Now, the question is.....Is this inside info from CSC or are they just saying TSC is a month behind? Clearly they are behind, why say they are only a month when they are saying June 6th? If they are only one month I'd receive an NOA2 in May.

Thoughts?

I'll post in Nov. too so we can get everyone's thoughts

Thanks for the update Kristin.

Well we know that's rubbish as from Igors list people get their NOA 2 in anything from 3 - 5 weeks at CSC , definately not months. If you go to the CSC USCIS stats processing page it will say 5 months because CSC is meeting it's target, they only say last date approved when they are behind normal processing times. So that's probably what this jobsworth has done, looked at the table and gone CSC is 5 months as the congressmans enquiry has only got to tier 1 support 'line'.

Looking at Igors list there seems to be a couple of applications being processed from late July into start August. Officially TSC USCIS stats say 6th June, so they are running near to 7 months behind now.

Most people that went to CSC that applied same time as us, as in same NOA 1 date, (Nov 24 for us) are now getting their packet 3's from their embassy.

Can your Congressman not address the USCIS HQ to request better management saying CSC is clearly processing applications in weeks and TSC, taking several months, needs to shift it's backlog?

We're going to try a direct email to HQ, probably get nowhere. Been taking a few days to write it to try to get the right message across to avoid the junk folder! Maybe it'll get to the point where they love as so much they'll just want to get us off their backs!
