Hey guys,

Have a question. when does the package leaves from NVC to embassy? is it after we receive email?

Mumbai consulate December interviews (first 3 weeks) cases were ready by November 21. So expect the same for January Interviews.

When going for interview, how do they decide if a person needs a cosponsor? Do they use total income before taxes or base it on the last years w2.

When going for interview, how do they decide if a person needs a cosponsor? Do they use total income before taxes or base it on the last years w2.

They will look at your past three years and current annual income (before taxes). If you are well above 125% of poverty line (for your household size) then you won't need a sponsor...

depends on each case scenario. let say Year 2011-2013 you made below poverty line and for 2014 you are making well above the desired amount. You need to provide employment confirmation letter and recent pay stubs to consider that income. If you are border line for all years, I suggest for a joint sponsor (especially petition for parents or person with continuing medical issue).

Just called NVC... Interview scheduled for January 13th in Prague!! I hope everyone one else gets theirs soon. :)

FYI: The gentleman told me that Prague should have our package by December 13th (a month before interview) and we should receive an email in the coming week.

Okay see they going to make me have to strap up and go commando on them. Somebody needs a timeout at NVC now. :ranting::protest: Don't worry you know your embassy is HUGE (I believe the biggest and busiest on earth. So they have alot to do. Just get ready with your party hat. :goofy:

I called the NVC again today- no interview scheduled yet (Abu Dhabi). Do they schedule over the course of days? I sure hope so. :)

  • It goes into Ready when you have Case Complete. That's standard. It goes like this
  • READY Means you are ready for Interview doesn't mean you have one means you are ready for one.
  • Then once you get it you get IN-TRANSIT means NVC has shipped off your Petition to Embassy.
  • Then its back to READY.
  • After Interview it will either say READY than APPROVED or DENIED
  • then Administrative Processing
  • Than Issued

My CC was Nov 18th and still says AT NVC but i did get the CC email. And it still says n/a under AOS fee. Still waiting for Interview to be scheduled. ?
