What do people normally wear for their interview/test? Business attire? My letter states to wear proper attire (no t-shirts, baggy jeans, etc.). Shall I dress as though I'm going to work?

12-06-2006 NOA1 (Day 4)

03-05-2007 NOA2 - YAY!! (Day 89))

05-04-2007 INTERVIEW!!!!!! - APPROVED! (Day 149)

05-10-2007 Visa received (Day 155)

05-17-2007 ARRIVED IN PHOENIX (Day 162)

05-25-2007 Applied SSN

06-04-2007 Received SSN in the mail

06-14-2007 Passed driving test and now have my license

07-12-2007 MARRIED

07-24-2007 Changed name with SSA

05-31-2007 Appointment with Civil Surgeon for I-693A

07-16-2007 AOS sent to Chicago (received 07-18) (Day 1)

07-27-2007 NOA1 date (received 8/1) (Day 9)

11-29-2007 INTERVIEW DATE!!!!!! (Day 131) APPROVED

I wore business casual, my interview was at 1pm so I ran out during my lunch break.

I-130 --- 08/13/2013 - NOA1 for F2A visa category

9/17/2013 - transferred from Vermont to NBC

12/16/2013 - NOA2

01/08/2014 - NVC receipt date

02/11/2014 - NVC case # & IIN received

02/13/2014 - AOS paid

02/13/2014 - DS261 completed

2/28/2014 - received IV invoice/email from NVC

3/3/2014 - IV invoice available to pay & paid

3/5/2014 - DS260 completed & submitted

3/6/2014 - AOS and IV packets sent

3/7/2014 - packets delivered at NVC. 3/11/2014 - packets logged into NVC system

3/24/2014 - case complete

9/24/2014 - sent naturalization certificate to upgrade petition to IR-1

11/24/2014 - petition upgraded to IR-1 visa category

12/03/2014 - interview scheduled (called NVC)

12/08/2014 - received P4 email (interview letter)

12/19/2014 - interview moved to 12/29 from 1/26. in transit 12/15. ready 12/18. emailed embassy 12/18. response received 12/19

12/22/2014 - medical

12/29/2014 - interview

12/30/2014 - ceac site visa issued

01/05/2015 - visa & passport received from DHL

01/12/2015 - POE at Miami

N400 -- 2/14/2014 - eligible to apply

5/14/2014 - 5 year anniversary

3/10/2014 - sent

3/17/2014 - check cashed

3/17/2014 - received text from USCIS with case number

3/14/2014 - NOA date

3/24/2014 - received biometrics letter

4/15/2014 - biometrics appointment

4/17/2014 - placed in line for interview

06/13/2014 - received yellow letter (letter dated 6/6/2014)

08/12/2014 - interview scheduled

08/16/2014 - interview letter received via mail

09/17/2014 - interview date

09/24/2014 - oath ceremony ***woot woot, finally I'm an American citizen***

I plan to go straight to work after mine, so I'll dress for work (business casual).

Filing based on 3yrs/USC Spouse. 3 year residency anniversary is in August 2014. Filed immediately after the 90-day early filing mark (May 2014)


05/06/2014 - Mailed N-400

05/15/2014 - Check cashed

05/12/2014 - NOA Date

06/11/2014 - Biometrics Appointment

09/15/2014 - Inline for interview scheduling (was stuck in "Initial Review" for over 3 months!)

10/27/2014 - Scheduled for interview

12/01/2014 - Interview

12/19/2014 - I AM A US CITIZEN!

I agree that business casual should be fine... personally, I would wear a tie, because I wear a tie to anything serious, but I don't think it's needed.

I wore jeans, sneakers, and sweater. Unless you have a rubber chicken on your head, or a pink tutu, or something that's out of the ordinary, I wouldn't worry. They really don't give a C$#P what you're wearing.
