Embassy Review : Well - the interview was at 10.30 and I arrived in the area really early so I just wondered around Oxford Street and tried some clothes on in the stores! LOL! Before I knew it, it was 09:50 and I didnt know where the embassy was so I rushed with my map and finally found it. I joined the line, only to find I was in the wrong one! There were hundreds of people who were with camp america going to get there visa! Once I figured out I was wrong I said through. The took my phone and IPod off me and I walked around the huge building and entered. Once inside I was given a ticket and told that I'll be seen at window one. I walked into the waiting area (It's pretty big) and just sat down and waited. I didnt wait that long for my number to be called so I strolled up to window one and was greeted by an english man behind a screen! He asked for my birth cert, divorce cert, police cert, 2 passport photos and the I-134, which I handed to him. He then asked me to sign a few things and gave me a slip to pay my visa fee. I quickly went to the cashier window, paid my $100 fee and rushed back to hand him the receipt. He then asked me to place my hands on a scanning device and had my fingerprints taken. He then handed me my X-ray (after advising that my medical was good)and a pink slip for the courier - for which I would use if my visa was granted. I then sat down and waited! I did have a book with me but I could read it as I was kinda nervous and didnt want to miss my number being called! About 1 1/2 hrs later I heard my number. I jumped up and went to window 16 where I was greeted by a really cheerful american lady. She asked me to have my right hand scanned again and then to raise it as I swore that I was telling the truth etc. She then flicked through the application file and asked how me and Jamal met. When I said in 2004 she seemed quite surprised and was like 'wow - thats quite some time!' I didnt think it was that long but you never know! She then asked how he proposed! I just stared at her and said quietly 'he's not really the romantic type! He didnt actually propose! It just kinda happened' and she laughed and said she understood and that she'll deduct 10 points from him for not being romantic! She then asked me to sign a form to confirm that I was to marry Jamal within 90 days of entering the states. Once I retuerned the signed form to me she stated ' Well, everything seems really good - as long as your fingerprints dont come back with anything bad then I'll be happy to approve you!' I was so happy I thanked her and ran to the bathroom and cried a little relief! I then went to the SMS counter with my courier slip and paid my fee!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
