So you can go for MEPS while waiting for GC?

I just meant that's where ASVAB is. Unless they have a test scheduled at a college or high school close by....sonetimes they do that also. I don't know if you need green card in hand.

I did the practice test at the recruiters office on February. I'm going to take the real ASVAB tomorrow, not sure if they'll take me to MEPS to take it or somewhere here in Greensboro, I didn't ask. What I can't do is go through MEPS without the physical Green card in hand (I was approved of it on 08-01). So in the meantime that I get it, we get all of this out of the way.

(4/13/15): Uscis received my documents AOS EAD


(4/17/15): Notice date for Biometrics


(5/06/15): 11am, Biometric done


(6/20/15) Letter received for i-485 interview for (July 22nd 2015 9:35am wednesday)


(6/24/15): (on June 29th, I was annoyed because I have not heard anything about my i-765 for EAD, and case status was not updated since April 13th saying we received your package. So I called USCIS and after talking to them for awhile I found out my I-765 was already approved and letter was sent at June 24th 2015, so that was a good news, but I still have not received my approval letter yet and my case status is still not updated.


(6/29/15): Called USCIS regarding my i-765 EAD, read (6/24/15)


*(6/29/15): Went home later that day after college, and found out I did receive my i-765 approval letter :D But case status online still not updated.


(7/9/15): EAD Recieved :D


(7/10/15): Applied for SSN


(7/22/15): Aos Interview


(7/23/15): Green card / Interview approved card in production


(7/27/15): Welcome Notice mail received in mail ^~^


(8/01/15): Social Security Card Arrived :D

So, some of my paperwork got screwed up that same day and several other people weren't able to take the test. Our first hurry up and wait experience. I'm just gonna wait until I get the actual card because I can't be taking that much time off of work, and get done with the ASVAB and MEPS.

My practice test will be tomorrow, afterwards we will be discussing what branch would be the best option for me (Reserves)

I know after research we do have a corpsman unit in my city, which I can get into, I will also have to talk with my Marine recruiter about what Marine units are in my city, and what jobs there are

Right now I am heavily set on Corpsman in the Navy, but If Marines have any behind the desk jobs such as Legal / Administrative / Accounting / office or computer related jobs I will be going into Marine. If none of the jobs I listed are available I will be going as Corpsman in Navy

Good luck, it's easy.

My wife wanted to get into the medical field in the Navy and they told her there were no openings. Why are you doing reserves and not active duty?

It's just things you would have learned during school...basic math, spatial orientation, reading questions. Some sections like in the math it's just a set of +/- question but you have three minutes to complete as many as possible. When I took it there were 50 and you had three minutes to do it. I completed it, but I was the only one. Very easy..... really nothing to stress over.

i had a 2yr CPR and have filed i-751 but pending now for 2 years, i just got another 6months stamp and seeing if i could use that to join the military

Best advise: Go talk to a recruiter. I'm not sure about your situation.

Guys, btw, Meps was sooo boring, but me and my wife are both medically and physically qualified! We're probably gonna swear in next week.
