I'm sure this has been asked a bunch of times, so I apologize, but the tracking and ceac stuff confuses me :) Our status on ceac changed to "Ready." Does that mean it left NVC? Or that it arrived at the embassy? Thanks guys for your patience in answering!!

That means the embassy has received it and put it in line for your interview I believe. :dancing:

10 DAYS UNTIL OUR INTERVIEW AT THE BOGOTA EMBASSY!!!

I got all of our paperwork organized this weekend. I checked and double checked. I have at least 6 inches of folders and paper. I am so scared I am going to be missing ONE document. I hear Bogota is pretty easy going, but the fear is there. Just excited that this "journey" will be ending soon. When I first started I was told 6 to 8 months, 9 months maximum. We will be close to 13 month once the interview is over.

Congrats to all of the CC's and interviews scheduled. And all of you that are getting interviewed this month? GET IT TOGETHER QUICKLY! :)

I am beginning to prepare the closets in the house for all of her clothes and shoes! hahahaha...(yeah, we know...women have lots of clothes and shoes, but Colombian women? that is an understatement! hahahaha!!!)

Best of luck to all...

Today is the day! How did the interview go? I'm really curious to hear how it went and what they asked. Hope y'all are celebrating right now!

Ok, I just panicked a little. Last month I had to replace my laptop and lost all my scanned documents of IV and AOS packet, IV I can replace most with copies and originals that I already have. BUT. I do not have copies of the entire AOS package :(

  • How important is it for me to have this at the interview? Do I need to have my co-sponsor fill out alll the forms again and send them to me to bring to the interview?
  • Do I need original tax returns/transcripts for the interview? (Im not sure which one) or are scanned copies ok? (I sent scanned ones to NVC)
  • My husband has not worked since 2011 and therfor has no tax forms. I provided a letter stating this at the NVC stage but reading reviews I'm worried they're going to ask for proof and I don't have any? My husband will be present at the interview.

Thank you in advance!

1.Whatever you submitted to NVC will be there for you. Many just have copies just in case.

2. No you don;t need originals. You already submitted everything.. Ling as your checklist doesn't state you need to being anything.

3. You already gave proof to NVC and got case complete. You have a sponsor correct? That's all you need to have done,. All was done at NVC.

I went back through the thread looking for this exchange, because I'm in a similar boat. Our interview letter says to bring "photocopies of all civil documents" and I am sitting here worried and wondering 1) what exactly are the "civil documents" and 2) if everything we submitted is already being sent from NVC and I don't have access to everything to be able to make copies right now, we should be okay unless they lost something, right? Ugh. Somebody please say something reassuring. :( Do all interview letters say to bring "photocopies of all civil documents"?

OMG!! :goofy: … I was just catching up on the thread and the interview spreadsheet….and was wondering why hasn't the second round for canadians not begun….this is surprising…they haven't scheduled anyone after 10 december….atleast at montreal… i am pretty sure you guys will be between Dec 10-23. I wonder, could it be because some of the agents at the consulate may be taking time off for xmas and new years eve…and thats why they haven't scheduled it yet.. … they need to make sure the logistics is correct??? just guessing

We have finally received a package from the embassy along with the passport with a visa sticker on it.

I understand that the yellow envelope which is supposed to be handed to the officer at the POE should not be opened.

But in the package, there is another envelope that is also sealed on the back (like this on the photo) and in the front it says "Mr. *My husband's name*, your documents and photos" but did not say that it is for the POE. The stamp says "IV Unit Ambassade des Etats-Unis (IV Unit American Embassy)18 avenue Gabriel 75008 Paris "

Can we open this one?

You don't have to take everything again. What you need most is passport, 2 2x2 photos, interview letter, ds260 confirmation page and courier instructions. However, most people do take original copies of everything submitted to nvc, just in case they get 'ahem' lost in transit. I plan to, plus a printed out copy of the Aos.

Thanks very much Cathymac! Good luck for your interview, you'll have to let me know how it goes!

I have booked my medical for the 28th (1 week before the interview on the 9th) do you think that's enough time?? It seemed like you did yours much earlier!

Thanks

I'm sure it'll be fine, it only needs 5 days to get to the embassy but it won't be sent until after the second day when they have your blood results back. I would call Knightsbridge and ask if you've left enough time tbh. Also, if there are any issues, like high blood pressure or ticking a box that you haven't got a letter about from your gp, they will ask you to get a letter from your gp and fax it to them. And in my case, and that of a friend, the gp took almost two weeks to get the stuff to Knightsbridge. They won't send the results to the embassy until they get that. And you will be in AP until they receive it. They won't deny you if you have the receipt and are waiting results. The long and short of it is why I did mine early, lol. I had high BP through nerves and got it checked two days later and it was fine x
