Also you should wait for BOTH fees to be paid to mail your package to the NVC to prevent anything from being lost or misplaced by them. As per NVC website. I don't give a hoot if the operator says it's okay, they don't actually work on your case. A supervisor can and does so that is different.

Yes... they misplaced my civil documents... only send IV to Attn: DR with barcode cover sheet

S & A ~ Thank you for that! The Lawyer involved unlocking the two fees at the same time really alleviates some confusion as to why peoples timelines say they were able to pay them on the same day. NOW I understand :.) We have DS261 showing as complete. AOS invoiced last Thursday and showing as "Paid" today. So I'm not so patiently waiting for IV fees to open up. How many days after that should I expect the DS260 to open up? I'm hoping Monday Nov. 3rd can be "Pack mailing day" Really appreciate Visa Journey's and this current thread. Helping so! very much (F) Kop Kuhn Ka (thank you) from Thailand!

I'm glad that helped! Remember not to touch the DS-261 ever again after you complete it because that resets the clock for the IV fee to be unlocked (or used to, at least). I'm pretty sure everyone around me got their IV fee unlocked within 7-10 days. The DS-260 unlocks at the same time as the IV fee. :) Good luck!

If you filed that G-1145 form with your I-130 to get the initial electronic notification, the person on that form should get the NVC email. I'm pretty sure the USCIS case notifications are completely unrelated and they don't get that information. When you're assigned a case number at NVC (about 3 weeks after NOA2) you should call and they will ask whether you want to register additional email addresses for the petitioner/beneficiary/attorney. This is what I did because I hadn't filed that electronic notification form with the I-130 (and so they didn't have any email address for my case). Ever since that call, my wife, my attorney and myself all get CC'd on any email NVC sends.

Thankyou

The g-1145 only covers the intial NOA1 and you needed to sign up on the USCIS website to get any other emails from them. I did and they sent me emails but not my husband the petitioner. Most of the time (60-80% I think) the NVC gets the petioner email from the g-1145 but not always. You give over both petioner and beneficiary (now primary applicant) to the NVC so that both people know what's going on.

Thankyou

I sent my documents together (oct. 25, 2014) after paying for both the AOS fee and IV fee and they were marked as paid. I got a text from USPS saying that my documents were delivered and signed for. No scan date, email or anything else yet. Hoping for the best.

Hey RobbieG nice to read you again.

So do you send it out before the IV bill AND DS260? Cause i wait for the IV bill and 260 as well. Our papers are ready to ship out since weeks and we cant wait for it. So i probably also try to ship it out as soon the AOS bill is acepted and we can print the cover sheet.

I can not understand why it is so hard to just activate all the things to do online. Why is there a waiting period between the bills and the 260?

I remember to saw something online about a person who was not able to pay the bill online but the case got still completed and s/he was asked to pay it by the interview in cash/card.

Yes, I sent both packages after the AOS bill showed as "paid" at the instruction of the NVC.

A) Paperwork got lost before the new process. It isn't a result of sending packages in together at the same time unless you have proof that hasn't been shared

B)I'm assuming you don't work on the cases either so you are discrediting your own advice

C)I suggest taking the advice of someone who does work there and not a poster in this forum. I continue to say to "do as the NVC directs you." If you don't believe the operator then yes, ask for a supervisor.

D) There hasn't been any negative result to my knowledge of following the NVC operators advice of sending in both packages after the AOS shows as paid. In fact, I know of several members who have gotten case complete, no checklists, after proceeding as instructed by NVC operators.

E) No one who has submitted both packages together, to my knowledge, has gotten the "false" confusing checklist. That is another benefit of doing as the NVC operators have instructed.

If you have proof that proceeding as NVC operators have been instructing, by sending in both packages after the AOS shows paid, I would love to read it. Please share.

I'm not going to get into this whole discussion about whether to follow the NVC's operators advice or not (it doesn't even apply to me, as my AOS and IV fees unlocked at the same time), but one thing that everyone should consider is that with the process change the IV fee is taking between 5-10 days to open up. I mean, from your signature, you saved a whole... 4 days by sending the package before the IV fee was invoiced.

I still don't know if I would have done it but I understand why people did it before, back when it took two months to unlock the IV fee. If people really want to save an extra 4-5 days that badly that's good, but considering how long this process is and the possible consequences of not following the standard procedure, I'd say the most reasonable thing right now (again, because it takes a week at most!) is to wait. I agree with you that it's very possible that nothing bad will happen and you will most likely get your CC with no issues.

Regarding false checklists - they still happen sometimes when payments are processed, or in my case, when the DS-260 was reviewed so they're not completely a thing of the past. :)

did you guys mail the package with ATT: CMR OR ATT:DR?

Also, on the i-184ez, on question 16, your house hold size: for count that are zero do you put in zero or leave blank?

and question 9, "place of resident if different from mailing list" if it is the same do you leave blank or put same address again?

lastly, in part 7, information on Preparer, I am the preparer as well as the petitioner. what do i do here? leave blank, write n/a on each line, giant n/a, or fill in my information?

*p.s sorry i am semi hi-jacking your thread*

Just sending AOS then Attn:CMR AOS.. both AOS & IV .. you should send to Attn:DR.. with the new process all documents should send after completing DS-260 to Attn:DR

Also, on the i-184ez, on question 16, your house hold size: for count that are zero do you put in zero or leave blank?

Either is fine...

and question 9, "place of resident if different from mailing list" if it is the same do you leave blank or put same address again?

put Same Address

lastly, in part 7, information on Preparer, I am the preparer as well as the petitioner. what do i do here? leave blank, write n/a on each line, giant n/a, or fill in my information?

1) According to the new process, Attn: DR.

2) From what I've read on VJ, never ever leave anything blank on the I-864EZ. I put zeros everywhere, and N/A when things didn't apply.

3) Do NOT leave this blank or you'll get a checklist, even though it tells you to leave it blank if it's the same. You could write N/A or "same as above" I guess, but I just wrote the same address again.

4) I did have a preparer, but if I hadn't I think I'd just spam N/A on each line to be extra sure.

Oh, also if you're doing the I-864EZ you'll have 5 pages and not 9. Remember to sign and date the last one.

My update is very similar to jaiyen17' update - AOS fee showed up as paid, but IV is not invoiced yet. At this time our case has been expedited at NVC so we will no longer deal with NVC, but instead will deal directly with USEM. At this time case is still at NVC and has not been physically shipped to USEM. At this time our expectation is that we will pay IV fee during the interview and we will have to work with ESEM so that they allow us to file DS-260 online prior to the interview.

Hello Im in australia and my husband is in US. We are putting together our packages. We understand everything needs to be sent together. My question is about the originals like police certificate and my photos that NVC website require for IV package. Am I supposed to mail them to hubby along with the other things on the IVdocs and then he puts it all into one big package withGod AOS docs and send them together? I only ask because when I was looking at the interview section of NVC website it talks about me having to take photos to the embassy and also take my police certificate. I'm honestly abit confused. We got married in US so hubby will be sending an original of our marriage certificate even though he already did this during USCIS stage. Should I get him to send a copy of the marriage certificate to me aswell for interview?

Yeah, those instructions are confusing. But no, you just need to send all the originals to NVC and then NVC will forward everything to the embassy (so you won't have to bring any originals that you already submitted). You didn't need to submit any originals to USCIS, photocopies were fine at that stage. I doubt NVC will pull your marriage certificate from the I-130 package so you should send it again, but you don't need an extra one for the embassy.

It doesn't matter where you send your packages from as long as you send them together. Like you said, I mailed all of my originals, pictures/etc to my wife and she sent everything from the US. I think that's usually what makes the most sense.

The only thing you need "extra" aside from the documents sent to NVC is another 2x2" picture for your medical exam (not sure if another set for the embassy?).
