greetings VJ members

am at Lagos consulate now compiling my documents.

I need to know how long it will take to get the police certificate, how much it cost and where to pay? or the process/procedures involved

2. what vaccines do I need for my medical?

thank you

Nigerians who are here or anyone whos got any idea.

I can't help you as much as I would like to but take a look at this if you haven't yet: http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/mobile//immigrant_visa_forms.html

Also, it wouldn't hurt to go to local police station and ask them for instructions how to get the police certificate if you can't find anything on the internet. You need to look a lot of things up.

Were not going through the lagos embassy so Im not sure on vaccines but for the police certificate when my fiance requested his it was ready the next day. He sent a friend with the completed forms that he found online along with his fingerprints, we thought it would take a while to get so he did this last week and it was ready the next day...The police report was from Lagos he is from Nigeria currently living in Dubai.

...

We've been waiting a long time now.

I've been back and forth quite a bit.

My daughter is turning one year old soon and has yet to see her grandmother in the states.

Anyone left?

Me! They told us that someone is reviewing our case half a month ago. Call back if don't hear back by the end of June. We were excited but it failed. We are going to call tomorrow and see how it go. 285 days and counting....

We are planning a trip for the worst scenario that we cannot get approved anytime soon.

Yeah, I've talked to them too many times now. I've almost given up.

Maybe July 4th will give them a heart.

Thank you so much guys! I hope johneo and JF will get the happy news soon. I don't know if it helped, but I sent an inquiry for a change of address and hours later we were approved..

My fiance called twice today. The first one asked him to wait for 30 days and file another inquiry. The thing is this is already our second inquiry, but the record of the first one disappeared. She even hung up on my fiance. Poor guy... The second one asked us to email the follow up again. Now they can't tell is someone is reviewing our case. Ugh. Endless waiting again...

Thanks Mewbear. We'll give it a shot.

Fun fact, I tried to submit an inquiry online about our case despite it not being out of the processing time, and mine was approved the next. The only one in a group of 15 I had been watching. So maybe the online system triggers something?

Good luck JF & YF. Nobody should be waiting this long.

The answered the Request for Information and said that they would let us know something within 60 days which I doubt.

Mine just said that our case is pending adjudication. They can't give us a completion date. People said it can mean many things. They may even haven't look at our case yet.

We've tried to call, file online inquiries, and contact congressman. Nothing works. Is there any other thing we can do? Does InfoPass help?
